Is it international 'catch the dopers' day or something? It's like Christmas came early for clean cycling.

Looks like everyone who was assuming that Ricco was the real target of 'Cobra-Red' was correct.

When did the story came out? Is it also in english news?

That would make today one of the "biggest" days in cycling. Wow, Contador, Mosquera, Garcia Dapena and Ricco again. Sick

The odd thing is they had searched Ricco's house the morning they raided everyone else. The Tuttobiciweb version said they found fifty unknown tablets, some partially crushed, at Ricco's, and a gun plus stimulants and steroids.

It's not an article about cycling, it's about a police investigation. Police searched this house looking for doping substances and found fifty of something suspicious. They went to another house and found a gun plus stimulants and steroids. No cycling knowledge is required.

I have medications in my house that police would not have a clue what they are . I dont know either.
Dont think they will make me faster or fitter though.

Trouble is the police think they have something they should find out first what it is before they leak it to the press.

Vacansoleil has unknowlingly shot itself in the head with one huge double-barreled shotgun!
I find it so annoying that all these tests come out during the Worlds! It draws all attention away from Cancellara and his amazing performance! :mad:

I imagine cancellara's program is detailed to a millisecond like swiss precision and never will see a +ve

i think the pro peloton took a collective sigh of despair at the thought of another damaging day with all the doping stories. No one to blame but themselves.:(

Isn't there an anti-doping conference right about now ahead of the worlds RR? The reveals are probably released strategically so that they have some fresh news to talk about there.

If anything, the reveals are released to make the UCI look better while said anti-doping conference is quite probably criticizing the UCI's effectiveness when it comes to doping.

I don't know. It also coincides with the Worlds which is THE race organized by the UCI. Why divert attention from the race with all the doping stories? Nobody is talking about the race. IMHO the range of importance is:
Contador, Ricco, Mosquera etc. doping story >> Worlds races >> doping conference.

If the UCI timed the doping story to overshadow the conference, I think they overdid it.

Nope nothing to do with UCI my understanding is;
German media had the story so Contador had to act to pre-empt them.
Italian police don't take orders.
Spanish probably knew about Contador and released theirs today to try and dilute Contador's bad news
