Is this your response for saying you thought I wished Nibali ill fortune? Scratches head in wonder......In case it hasn't sunk in I Want Nibali to win!

When did i say that and what was the context in it?

And to the other guy, if you didn't imply anything of clinic related with the word human, i'm terribly sorry

You:
Hoping for that is stepping down to maxmartin's level

I was expressing concern that he was isolated and might have a mechanical :( Somehow you turned that into I was hoping he would have a mechanical.

Nibali reiterated that he views Valverde as his most dangerous rival – albeit a very distant one – at this Tour, but he was later at pains to dismiss the notion that he was undervaluing the threat posed by Pinot.

"Clearly, I'm not underestimating anybody. I learned this last year at the Vuelta [where he was surprisingly beaten by Chris Horner – ed.]," said Nibali. "When Pinot was attacked on the climb today, I was the first person to respond and shut him down. And in the final kilometre, when Valverde left a gap open in front of me, I was the one who shut down Pinot."

Astana has completely disappeared, that's the only cause of concern.

Nibali is able to do it alone anyway and clearly no one has the strength to attack from far.

Birdsong is supposed to be the last man, obviously he is still suffering from that nasty crash.

One mechanical isn't enough to lose, you need a crash or hungerknock.

I just implied that if you were hoping for it, it is going to his level.

nothing serious happened today but you never know what movistar and pinot will try if he shows any weakness signs tomorrow. but for now he's looking good, a little bit tired yes but still very strong and with a more than nice advantage

With three stage wins already to his name at this Tour de France, Vincenzo Nibali may be in the mood to start handing out gifts as the race enters the Pyrenees. According to TuttoBici, Nibali got into the spirit of things during the rest day, by handing his credit card to trainer Paolo Slongo and asking him to take Astana's soigneurs and mechanics out to dinner as a thank you for their efforts to date.

Nibali has also spoken on the phone with 1965 Tour winner Felice Gimondi in recent days. Gimondi is Italy's only living Tour champion and he is hoping he will be able to welcome Nibali to the club on Sunday evening. He made contact with the yellow jersey through his fellow Bergamo native, Alessandro Vanotti, Nibali's bodyguard in the peloton.

What is he going to do after he had actually won?:D

not sure if you missed the background story. Just before the Tour starts, Birdsong had an interview with a Danish fashion magazine, basically Birdsong is criticizing "Nibali eats too much Pizza, that is why Nibali had a hard time to get down his weight, otherwise Nibali could win so many more races."

Nibali should give Birdsong a pizza and a descending lesson.

Yea I remember the story. Would be hilarious if he invited Birdsong for pizza sometime. Especially funny if he invited him for pizza during a press conference following the end of the tour. Assuming the team has a group press conference after it is over...

then those two crash on the descent never get back LMAO

Your "LOL's" and "LMAO's" after each of your derogatory remarks about Contador and Froome are bad enough but making light of their crashing just cements you on my ignore list. Don't bother to respond because I won't see it anyway.

dude, lighten up. put things into context, see what comment I am replying to. And you jump out several pages to reply one of my specific post. How creative a troll you are!

While I've not watched every minute of this year's Tour I've seen enough to come to one conclusion: Nibali has ridden the smartest Tour in years.
He knows where to be, when to use his energy and when to slack off.
He may not even be the strongest guy in the Tour this year. He hasn't had to be and, while many argue what makes a Champion, Nibali has shown so far that the proper amount of aggression can get you far. He definitely reflects his nickname.

You are absolutely right, that is what I said all along the way. Just like yesterday, what is the point to follow Pinot next to his wheel considering a long descent is ahead of them and Pinot is not particular good for his descending skill. Nibali reads the race very well. To be a great GT rider, you need to know where and when to spend your energy most effectively.

He's been ultra efficient. The smartest is an understatement.

It is indeed remarkable what smart riding and the strongest riders dropping out can do for your TdF MJ prospects. He's certainly making the most of this god given opportunity he has been handed.
