Gianni Mura, a 68-year-old Italian journalist, poses with his typewriter after an interview with Reuters during the 124.5km seventeenth stage of the Tour de France cycle race between Saint-Gaudens and Saint-Lary Pla d'Adet. Mura, who covered his first Tour de France in 1967 for La Gazzetta dello Sport, is the iconic figure in the race press room. The Italian, who now works for La Repubblicca, has seen Raymond Poulidor in his bath and drunk beers with Felice Gimondi. Almost 50 years after following his first Tour, Mura has not changed a bit. He still dictates his stories to the newspaper after having typed them, usually just outside the press room, *** hanging from his lower lip.

What kind of story is he typing about Nibali? Any Italian fans?

Don't agree. I would say Nibali is best GT rider in world at this precise moment because nobody could beat him at Tour.

Tours not the only race in the world, and it's not the be all end all of who's the best cyclist in the world.

IMO there is the best. The big 4 that are more or less about equal/same level with each other.

He's won the best stage race there is, thus he's the best rider in the world, 2014 edition. It's not his fault that other riders didn't enter ot weren't there at the end of the race.

Which makes him the best GC rider from those who entered this race. Doesn't mean he's better than Quintana, for example. To be better than someone they have to compete at the same time, in the same race, otherwise no conclusions can be made. Period.

So is it Nibali's fault they DNF? Wake up dude, bike handling is part of racing. Now let's take Germany's win away just because Neymar got injured

Ha ha ha...so Froome is NOT a 2013 worthy winner because Nibali wasn't there, right?

This is one sick bike Nibali is riding today. Very refined, love the just bits and pieces of it in yellow and unique designs you don't notice at first.

He he he, top post on next page, cool. :D

So with this win he joins Merckx, Anquetil, Gimondi, Hinault, and Contador as one of the riders to have won all 3 GT's.

Sounds like a plan! :p

Hmm, I really shouldn't be encouraging trolling of other fans though, should I?

Join the dark side, Afrank. You must cement the legacy of your imperial will. Look at The Frenchies. They don't celebrate any of their peaceful monarchs, no, they celebrate the day that kickstarted events that ended up in the Reign of Terror. Lets face it, the only legendary admins are those with at least one period with a reign of terror. We WILL conquer all of the threads here, all of them will talk about Nibbles (basically accomplished in the Contador/Quintana threads already), every poll will have a Nibbles option and even all the smileys will be made of Nibali jpegs. Give the order, do it! Do it! NOW!

:D

I might be in a bit of a jovial mood as you can see, can't think of the reason why!
