Lo Squalo showing great form, just in time for The Worlds and Lombardia. :)

Giro Padania (2.1)
Etapa 4:
1. Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas-Cannondale)
2. Davide Rebellin (Meridiana) a 4
3. Kristijan Durasek (Adria Mobil) m.t.
4. Domenico Pozzovivo (Colnago) a 11
5. Franco Pellizotti (Androni) a 13

I'm gonna check this stage later on RAI.
Yesterday he looked very good in a 250km stage under heavy rain in the final 20. He's peaking at the right time.

Great, showing Nice form :)

He will have a very young team around him for Worlds; they shouldn't have any ambitions for themselves!

Exactly and he needs to go alone. And when he does a solo he usually ****s up lol

The Spaniards fail time and again to ride as a team though. Would be great to see Nibali in rainbows.

That is what I am afraid of. But there might be too much ego going on with AC, JR and AV together. But I can forsee AC and AV will agree ride for JR as a consolation for Vuelta loss.

Italia brings a young team to the worlds I hope I will be gladly surprised. Also watch out for dutch team and PJ. This should be an exciting worlds with complicated tactics displayed on the road.

I'll post it here as well, in case somebody didn't check the Lesser known races topic:

Just watched the stage. A couple of notes:

- Bettini was talking to Nibbles before the stage, apparently telling him the selections for the Worlds. Nibali nodding;

- Lo Squalo looked good. He had no team at the bottom of Bocchetta, while Colnago and Androni were still large. He responded to attacks by Brambilla and Pozzovivo and then sprinted at ease in the last 300 metres (btw Pozzovivo was with him, then totally collpased).

Now Nibali leading the GC with 40 seconds over Pozzovivo and Chiarini.

I watched it last night.
Nibs is looking great, these past 2 days.
As SafeBet says, all on his lonesome, but really quite dominant.
Pozzo, for once, showed a little pain in his usually expressionless mask.
TinTin, same as ever, aged 40 odd.............

I don't think you need to go deep in politics to provide an explanation to that one, but well...They even changed the name:D It is no longer a giro to a territory that doesn't exist (officialy in the very least).

I think a lot of stars would need to align for Nibali to win Worlds. His form appears to be on track is as much as someone can say. You can hardly be surprised with the outcome of Monviso-Venezia's last two stages.

so funny when you change the name of your race but everyone (press and organisers included) keep on calling it the old way :D
They sure now how to troll ;)

Anyway Nibali will surely be in shape for the worlds, in order to win them he must arrive solo to the finish though

With jokes about Basso and Il Delfino, I thought it was a joke like Amgen sponsoring ToC

Giro di Padania, on top of Passo della Bocchetta.
Ah, the race whose very raison d'être is politics, yet Basso claimed he only thought of racing, not politics?
