Arredondo said:I understand his decision actually. If his shape is **** (which i think he thinks it is), there's no point starting in Lombardia. The risk to falter big time is way too high.
If he is the leader for that team they'll probably want him at the Tour. Just saying. Us fans don't understand that but sponsors are a different thing.Brullnux said:I'd say 90% chance he's doing the Giro.
But would Nibali be willing to go to a team which doesn't let him ride the giro?Escarabajo said:If he is the leader for that team they'll probably want him at the Tour. Just saying. What's Nibali saying here?
I think the key phrase is this (but perhaps we need to go to the Clinic Forum)Rollthedice said:Here you can read the story triggering Nibali's Tweet. Maybe our Italian friends can summarize better.

Which I think says Nibali's anti-doping test was done 3 hours after the end of the 2015 Italian National Championship at Superga.
A few weeks ago Visconti mentioned that Nibali will probably ride the Giro and the Vuelta.Red Rick said:Don't know if it's been discussed, but has there been any mention of Nibali's plans for 2017 after the Giro?

Where in Croatia are they?Rollthedice said:Red Rick said:Don't know if it's been discussed, but has there been any mention of Nibali's plans for 2017 after the Giro?
Right now in Croatia first team meeting Bahrain Merida, I'm sure Nibali's plannning for 2017 is an important topic. He didn't even confirm Giro but we all know that riding in pink in Messina would be very nice.

I'd say he was on his absolute best for the last couple of alpine stages of this year's Giro. Undoubtedly two of this year's greatest climbing performances from any rider, in my opinion.El Pistolero said:A Giro-Vuelta double would be amazing, but I doubt he can reach the level of 2013-2014 again.Hope I'm wrong! He certainly won't win the Giro next year if he comes prepared like this year.
