In Pais Vasco no one did anything and he failed to win the ITT. I guess it says enough.

Wow you serious this year Porte has stepped well up and to even win the stage he won was great. Paris Nice say what you like but his attack was great at least he as shown he can attack uphill unlike Wiggo, Criterium International when Froome was up the road and he accelerated past Mollema was unbelievable.

So you can bend the facts as you please and I can't. Fine.
I'm a bigger Contador fan than I'm a Nibali fan, so I think I can judge the two riders more objectively than you ;) (1st Boonen ofc)

What was Contador biggest goals this spring? Oman? LOL

The sad truth is that Contador has been pathetic so far (this year)

lol Netserk last year Purito in the Vuelta was just as good if not better than Contador and it shows how great Contador is that he beat him. So do you honestly think if Purito was at this Giro Nibali would be a step above bla bla bla.

yeah but by the same logic Nibali is a lot stronger. In TA MTF he came after Froome and beat everyone else but Santambrogio, and in Trentino he destroyed everyone.

And Contador will remain pathetic for the rest of his career. The risk is too high for him.

Guys i actually like Nibali aswell each year he steps it up what is not to like, if he steps up next year again he will be a serious threat. I just think this Giro is been won on attrition on who is better in the wet. Nibali probably is best overall at the moment in the race. But it has been awful because of mother nature and yesterday just wow(Lame). This will be 3rd best GT his year and when would you call the Giro the worst GT. The TDF will be far better, better name's the mountains will be raced better etc etc and I love the Giro.

Not really the same Porte attacked and won the stage Nibali didn't, ovi tougher competition but on this year how can you write Porte off. I think he as done brilliant. If he is a team leader at a GT next year he could get a podium imo look at the TDF as a domestique.

Nibali won the Trentino MTF...

I was on about Tirreno v Paris Nice Porte attacked and won Nibali attacked and came 2nd, but yes Nibali did indeed win Trentino a very good win infact I just think Porte proved as a dom last year, so they gave him leadership and he has not disappointed would you agree? I no winning a GT is another thing altogether though.

Maybe it's good to compare them with races they actually raced together.

By the way I am pretty objective for example I acknowledge that Froome is much better than Alberto atm even though I don't like Froome at all. Nibali is NOT much much better (>>>) than Alberto.

Porte did not disappoint ofc. But he's not at the same level as Nibali.

Anyway I was comparing Nibali/Trentino vs Porte/PN and Nibali/TA vs Porte/CI

I know hope is always a beautiful thing but... you really sure?

It would be nice Froome is diff to Wiggo even though Sky will set the train. Its not like Froome needs it Froome can follow aswell and if Wiggo has the lead after the ITT you can be sure Froome will be gone with Contador to gap Wiggo. And I think its a big possibility Froome will be behind don't you think?. I just think over 3 week the TDF will be better, no one is gonna forget Giro week 2 are they for how bad it has been.I don't no about your opinion what do you think? do you think and epic last week will save the Giro.

Ah ok yes I agree Nibali is above Porte.

I actually think Froome will win by small attacks of 2-3 kms. We'll se a lot of SKYtrains this year. It's true Froome doesn't need it but he always used it so I guess he finds it useful. He'll only have to drop Wiggo once to get yellow, and from there on we'll get all the people complaining about the boredom, occasionally stopping due to hopeless AC attacks TA-like.
EDIT:btw I do agree this 2nd week has been disappointing, and the third will probably be too. At least we saw some racing in the first.

Maybe they're hopeless, at least they're exciting. This GT doesn't really do any credit to Nibali's most agressive stage racer title.

Porte in CI was pretty insane though. Ok maybe not the biggest names although van garderen (but ok i don't think he's that good honestly) but the way he flied past these riders was insane.

And i wonder if Porte was still at this peak then. And he also had the same time on the col d'eze as Wiggins last year.

I think Porte had a chance to defeat Nibali in this giro. For sure a bigger chance than evans and uran

My top 3 GT rider's Froome, Contador, then depending on parcours Purito or Nibali. As Nibali has improved his ITT you'd say Nibali, but this Giro ITT Purito would have done well and I think the Vuelta Purito beats Nibali hands down.

They're not so exciting when you know they're gonna fail. It's certainly better than watch the peloton riding en masse though.
Anyway Nibali is gonna attack somewhere. I guess stage 20. I don't think he'll be satisfied with the MTT (provided he wins it)
