lol. on the saddle. mouth barely open. 18%.

at the very end of an "exhausting" three week GT.

destroying three tiny columbian climbers.

who needs armstrong? when you have cadence and a fist pump.

go ferrari. go!
There's no need to distort the facts. Betancur isn't "tiny", and it's not like Duarte or Urán would have been expected to outclimb Nibali before this year either.

And it's not like he beat them by a minute on the climb either. 20 seconds is hardly out of this world. Particularly with this conditions that usually increase the chance of big gaps.

Still the step up on his program is very obvious, i wonder who is supervising it.

This was quite hilarious. Just dropping everybody from the front. What a shame, cycling looked to be making some progress in 2010, but the arms race is back at full speed. A sideshow.

I want to see him against Froome, Contador, AS (in shape) before going real clinic.

His MTT was real amazing. Never thought he could do that, yep suspicous.

But he didn't do a Froome or Porte transformation. And how good can we for example rate a guy like Uran?

He hasn't proved that much as GC-contender in a GT.

Scarponi had his peak in 2011. Evans is so lucky that there weren't any other MTF's, can't really rate him that high.

Betancur and Majka, too young.

Definitely some things play for Nibali. Then again he rides for vino :p

Btw for sky fans: Froome dropped nibali and Contador and got 15 (even more) seconds on them in 1 km....

Indeed. He's much more consistent than ever, and has more of a punch. One could argue that the competition here wasn't that strong after his biggest theoretical rivals turned out to not be in a good condition, but the 2013 season didn't start at this Giro. Nibali's stepping up has been apparent throughout the whole year.

Don't really agree.

In Trentino yea he was impressive in that MTF.

But Oman and san luis, not really.

In T-A he had a level that wasn't better than last year.

Green Mountain is a steep climb though.

I got this from just some guy to "throw a small boom" :D

This is from @vetooo

Same guy havy quoted

#Giro 2007. Tre Cime di Lavaredo (last 3.0 km, 12.37 %). Di Luca 12:24, Simoni 13:01, Cunego 13:07, A. Schleck 13:23 | 2013: Nibali 12:55.4:03pm - 25 May 13

So nibs 21 sec slower than a cera induced killer in snow and rain which will slow a rider a lot.

Something is way off

Totally similar stage before the Tre Cime. Totally.

Indeed, was also about to post this.

The stage was harder in 07, Ricco and piepoli attacked from 90k out that day and the leaders were isolated going all out from very early on the climb.

Also today we only had bad weather for the last 6 or so km's the rest of the stage was extremely easy

Oman and SL were simply for training, T-A was the first big test for him.
Sure he's on a program, but nothing ott to me, looking at his progression and past, it's not like he came out of nowhere.

I don't think Di Luca was on CERA in 07.

Doesn't really matter what he used (transfusion, old EPO, CERA) though, he was certainly doping hard in 2007.

So Nibali was 31 seconds slower, but the stage in 2007 was a lot harder. Then again, that was a full effort by Di Luca in 2007, while Nibali took it easy in the last k, losing 15 seconds to Duarte. He could probably have done the last 3km 20 to 30 seconds faster if he tried.

I think he was from 2005.
Just going from the wikipedia article which says it was available from 2008. Don't really know though. Either way he was on some kind of EPO.
