Vincenzo Nibali

At the moment, he's leaving a too good impression after the slow start he's had this season... hit the unmatchable form in no time after an average Dauphine. Looks like he's found the secret formula last year.

I just laughed. He was going so quickly he nearly crashed out going uphill FFS.

Look at him, on one of the toughest climbs around he is up out of the seat powering away from all around him....and it doesn't hurt. He isn't out of breath its just a bloody hill sprint to him. Its not a joke its just normal for cycling.

I cannot watch with any joy anymore, its like watching the 100mtr final. Initially you go wow then reality sets in and you wonder what a normal human being without drugs would look like.

Therefore just treat it as theatre? I know they are all doped and nothings changed, but I still enjoy the theatrical elements of the sport.. I don't admire much of their endeavour though. The most significant thing Nibbles could've done today was get off his bike and see if Alberto was okay, but that's cycling eh.

But it's not theatre. What would be theatre would be real people and real racing. This bol*x is total sh*te that does whatever clean athletes out there out of alot of money. The tour should be hard, cyclists should not be nearly going over the barriers cause they are going so fast uphill.....still its been going on without change since the end of the eighties so I am used to it by now, I just keep thinking someone will do something about it.....then reality sets in, there making money so lets Ignore it and say they just train harder.

...
If that was a clean performance with the objective of maximizing the chances of a career-defining TdF win, he'd be going all in at the end of the stage, no?
Yet he sucks his thumb for 4-5 seconds crossing the line, showing no sign of oxygene debt whatsoever. Everyone knows what it should look and feel like in that situation...

To me it seemed he was more concerned about keeping the winning margin within a plausible/non-controversial range.

Doper.

The only truly inhuman performance was doper nibali.

1. Ferrari client from a very early age
2. Chose to ride for Astana and systematic doper vinokourov
3. Nowhere most of the season. Quite poor at dauphine with a stunning performance leap since then -- something that has been characteristic of O2 vector doping performers in the past.

I will be rooting for anyone but Nibali here on out.

Thank god we have a bunch of Frenchmen (and young ones) doing very well.

I know the top 1% of pro cyclist are really elite, but the difference between the 1% of the 1% is almost absurd.

I mean, Nibali/Contador just ride off from some of the best known climbers in the World...TJ said he thought he was going to explode if he tried to match the effort and decided to just tempo it up.

Then Nibali crosses the line breathing out of his nose while sucking his thumb...OMG...this is weird.

Nahhh, in the New Open/Transparent reign of Cookson, we get to wait around for 2 or 3 years, & then check the pdfs on the UCI website to see if the 2014 TdF has a new winner

And then Nibali sets up the "Vincenzo Fairness Fund".

Well you are right, and you are going to have to go watch one of your local amateur criteriums or cyclocross races to see the kind of racing you are looking for. Sad but it's just how it is.
