Outside the clinic I couldn't imply that all them guys were juiced and present an amusing coincidence.

I can't say I'm shocked that Nibali is beating Evans. Evans is old and it seems unless your name is Lance Armstrong, the sauce doesn't even work well enough to overcome old. Hi Denis Menchov!

The question is, who else was going to win this race? It seems that most of the top guys, doped or not, have had trouble and Nibali has not.

Nibali could wipe out tomorrow and lose 3 minutes and it won't be because his sauce is now all of the sudden not as good as everyone elses.

Well, pure awesomeness, for one thing.

If you are going to dope then the least you can do is deliver an exciting race. Landis did that. Ricco did that. The only thing exciting about Wiggins is watching him fail.

If the weather had cooperated then Nibali might have given us something to remember.

I am more sure that sky and their Riisesque ridiculous imrpovements and nixonesque blatant lies are clean because i am a extreme nationalist with less brain cells than Armstrong fanboys and they are british but i also think nibali is clean because superman(wiggins) batman (bailsford) and spiderman (froome) made cycling clean therfore everone is clean now and nibali even though not british therefore evil and probably a doper before must be clean now, no matter how strong his links to ferrari

Fair enough.

Of course not. I'm not stupid. Also, IMO Lemond isn't one of the greats... only the true legends of cycling are greats imo...but that doesn't belong in this thread

Look at what he all did as a junior. Also, he could have easily had 4 tour wins had he not carried Hinault and had he not been shot he likely would have won 87 and 88. Delgado and Roche in my opinion were never on his level.

Nibali has had a "credible" development & improvement built over year after year.

Looking at how he carefully "managed" this Giro, particularly how he didn't blow off Santambrogio on stage 14 and took the opportunity to build significant time on Evans makes me think the whole thing is well and truly "managed". Managed the effort, managed the results, and most likely managed via a doping program unlikely to be detected. Undeniably talented, as per Contador, but undeniably assisted.

If he is doping, surely he isn't still using Ferrari, is he? If not him, then who is the Astana hook up?

Also, its not totally surprising that he put so much time into Cadel. By his own admission, Cadel came into the Giro underdone and was hoping for a result, more than aiming for it. It might all be catching up to him now.

Apart from Nibali, the the other main contenders came undone, Wiggo I think by his nerve, then his chest infection, and Ryder seemed to have stuffed up his preperation, its all just come into line for Nibali, regardless of whether he is doping or not.

Surely this is just an academic question. It should be a widely accepted fact that just about every top GC rider since the early 90s has been doped. What I like about Nibali (aside from his admirable descending skills and generally decent personality) and Astana is that they don't try and con the world by bringing up BS about cadence or warm downs or whatever.

Could somebody clarify just how 'not normal' has he been? I've hardly found time to watch the Giro (I only watched the TT in the first week) or much of this season at all because my uni schedule has been horrific.

Just for you, a well known "not normal" day :
06.26.2001, Tour de Suisse, Crans Montana, uphill TT :
Lance Armstrong 47:18, steep part 16,4km@6,7% 37:08 => 6.7 W/kg for 76kg

According to @ammattipyoraily, Nibali did 6.5-6.6 W/kg on a very similar uphill TT yesterday (same elevation, percentage, uphill effort duration, the main difference is the flat part in the middle of the Giro's TT, which was at the beginning in Switzerland)

Armstrong was using EPO every two days during this 2001 TdS, getting 2 or three "postive" tests.

Article about the Ferrari link.
Nibali denies. Funny thing is the same article mentions Bertagnolli's denial as well.
BTW IIRC Bertagnolli didn't mention Nibali in his affidavit, although he mentioned other Liqui riders (Kreuziger...).
Also of note is this short article.
Mi sentirei un verme a tradire la fiducia di mio padre; non potrei più tornare dai miei. Se hai le qualità giuste e la voglia di fare sacrifici non serve altro.
Well I kind of believed him, but yesterday surely raised eyebrows.
