I know a rider who had far more heroic solo gt stage wins from breakaways than Emanuele Sella

I have to agree . . .
I can't see Nibali's tweet as a doping admission, not in any light. It fits his style of public speaking, and fits with his consistent anti-doping statements. Granted - it IS only a tweet, and how much meaning can you get from that!

Vayers sent those tweets before Santambroglio was announced, so he may have been jumping to conclusions a bit. Seems more likely to me - but it will all come out in the wash.

He was suspisious, that is true, not only this year, last year in the Tour as well, but just suspicious, not incredible, so I want to believe that not only SKy is clean, although they are the most transparent team, and the first team to work with another phillosophy, and they have money for that.

But I want to believe that the change is general, and just some people or some teams, are taking the bad way. It wouldnt be a surprise if one of that team is Astana, as well Vini, but I want to believe in this Astana.

I never really doubted Nibali's performances before. Not even this Giro. But something odd is his monotone canned video response CN posted regarding DiLucas latest positive really put me off. I closed that window thinking why in the heck isnt he more candid about it?

If he has tested positive, wouldn't the mainstream media be all over it? They love a cycling scandal. I think, as others have said, that this is just a 'nicer' version of the Wiggins 'bone idle ****ers' rant in response to speculation.

Not that I think the Shark is clean. Much as I like him, I can't see any top GT contender/winner riding pan y agua.

De luca ooc test monday 29/4- info became available friday 24/5 = 25 days
Santambrogio IC test saturday 4/5 info became available Monday 3/6 = 29 days

The first time Nibali would have been tested if not picked earlier is when he put on pink after stage 8 on saturday 11/5
If there is info available about a positive on Nibali and judging from the above cases, I would not expect that to be available before monday 10/6.

As for his tweet. I kinda think it's cute with all the posters going, OMG proof of doping!

Had his tweet been:

"Eating too much pasta gives you stomach cramps".

I would not be surprised if some of the same posters reacted with: OMG proof of doping!:rolleyes:

Oh, and if he did cheat and got caught, I think it will be good for cycling and good for Italian cycling. It might feel bad for a while, but it will be much better for everyone after a little while.

You know Vino has the financial backing from Astana, there will or shouldn't be any positives. Do you really think the UCI will want to tarnish cycling by letting the winner of the Giro test positive?

That backing didn't really help in 2007 (Vino/Kash/Mazzo) or 2010 (Bertie) did it? I don't buy this whole "make things go away" business, even for Dopestrong he was probably just bragging to to Hamilton and Landis after that "borderline" test in Switzerland made these meetings happen, it was more a "be careful" warning. Anyway that was 10 years ago.

It is certainly very worrying that Nibali is working for Vino, a man with no moral compass and for whom the end justifies the means. He certainly didn't get any guidance to do things properly there but certainly a "you can do it if you're careful" approach.

It almost worked back then. The thing is that AC was gonna leave astana, maybe if he didn't leave...:D

If we don't get any news today or tomorrow i think it's nothing. I don't really think anything was so suspicious of nibali in this giro, except that MTT of course. That was just ridiculous...

Maybe also the long ITT but i don't think his mountain performances were that unreal compared to 2012.
