Instead of changing the course, they should change the wind . . . like sent it to Gent for Sunday

Geraint Thomas must wonder why the March wind keeps targeting him.

Don't worry, for now ideal wind is expected in De Moeren on Sunday. Could change tho cause it will turn to ideal direction not long before they will pass their, so maybe by Sunday it's just a headwind sadly.

Anyways what does it even matter, it's not like they will broadcast it.

I didn't even notice the spelling, just thought you were talking about the Johannesen twins.

And this is not about being alike, it's about one beating another in a close sprint.

I chose to focus on you remembering the same thing at the same time (well nearly, you definitely lost).

Jesus, that's an obscure reference. I had to Google it and I might have heard of one of them but I don't follow the Danish Superliga and never have.

At least Sandisfan appreciates it.

My brain works in mysterious ways :(

Here's the wind forecast from today's race communique

If this comes true, I guess we may not see any racing at all.
An ambient temperature of 6C and a wind speed of 106km/h works out to an apparent temperature (wind chill) of -16C (3F). But that wind speed is dangerous - Category Two Hurricane strength. Even a small cross wind would be unrideable IMO. Be very surprised if they race in those conditions.

Edit: Now confirmed by Lequack.

Those are some seriously wicked winds. But not hurricane strength--that would require sustained winds of at least 119 Km/hr to quality as Category 1. But that's a minor point, those winds are incredible.

You do realize the 90km/u mentioned above is about wind gusts and not sustained wind right? We are still in Europe, you don't just randomly get 100km/u sustained winds. More, average wind today doesn't even look that bad where they will be riding, but wind gusts will be dangerous where roads are open and on higher altitude, hence why they are skipping Pradell.

The wind will calm down during the day, but it's a good direction for the penultimate climb.

I've indicated route, bonus sprint and finish-line below:

The northernmost point of the last climb is with ~2.7 km to go*:

*NB: Only the last ~4.3 km of the profile above match the climb today. There's a steep section at like 800 m at 10 % up to the 5 km to go banner.

I really want Roglic to just blast off on Isidre and see what happens. Another uphill sprint would frankly just be boring, and I don't think the Monjuic circuit is a great opportunity to try to drop Ayuso either, cause Ayuso is a better descender and Monjuic always disappoints.
