I thought Kudus said a couple of months ago that it's way too soon for him to ride a grand tour. But you never know.

But if i'm not mistaken his teammate Meintjes will ride the vuelta. He isn't that bad either.

I also hope that Adam Yates will ride the Vuelta.

Contador's injury is bad and he'll be bent out of shape to even consider the Vuelta. He's not one who enters races to soft pedal as an exhibitionist, especially not his mother country. Either he races hard or not at all. Afraid we might have seen the end of Contador's domination. Something like this has a huge psychological toll & he isn't getting any younger.

Mentally he might be down right now...that is natural. But he is no Andy Shleck....he'll be back next year with the same fire he had this year. He is very strong in the head.

the media is saying it is not the worst fracture, but who knows. He also needs training though. He can't arrive Vuelta without any training.

We're about to witness the greatest GT of all time. 8.0 W/kg, every climb record that exist destroyed, day after day of 100 Km's or more of nonstop action!

Froome, Contador, Purito, Quintana, Aru, And Valverde will make this the most attacking race of all time...

While a tibia break can be a 6 week recovery, I just don't think he will risk a further or a more permanent injury in the Vuelta. Time to reload for next year.

It will be a great race without AC.

At this point I think arthritis is a bigger threat to his career than a lack of motivation, although I do agree that he seems to be in a very bad spot right now. And you're right, he isn't getting any younger. I think that is one of the reasons he's down now too, he must realize that this might have been his last chance to win the Tour, and he was in super shape. It's all very sad but in the end the most important thing is that he makes a full recovery, screw the Vuelta, screw this season, he's had so many wasted seasons that one more won't make a huge difference. And so what if he can never win a GT or dominate again. I just want him to be able to ride pain free, any win that he can get is a huge bonus.

Is the opening tt technical? If so Sanchez could just do the same in the first part of the Vuelta as Evans did in the Giro.

Would still be some good PR for BMC and a decent performance by him.

Well Quintana shown in the Tour last year he can more than hold his own against the best. Not sure I agree with Contador having more talent than Froome, I don't think there is a great deal between them if both are fit. This was why it was such a shame we never got to see the battle in the Tour.

It sounds very doubtful that Contador will ride the Vuelta, he will be off the bike for 3 weeks at least giving him only 2 weeks to prepare. That is only a best case scenario of course. Froome has already pretty much committed to being at the Vuelta, he will only be off the bike for 2 weeks and during that time he can still ride turbo to keep the legs fit.

I'm 90% sure he'll ride. Contador said to de jongh that he'll ride the vuelta unless the doctors don't allow it. And it's clearly possible for him to make it on time.

Contador rarely says his true intents to the media cause he doesn't wanna create too high expectations but he really REALLY wants to ride the vuelta.

I wouldn't be surprised if he post a pic on twitter in 3 weeks showing he's training in the mountains.

By dropping in the mountain or make his fans actually think he can win it? He's good in both.

I sure he really does want to ride the Vuelta, but that doesn't take away from what just happened to him. I hope that he and his doctors stay on the cautious side. I would hate to see him training to early, and trying to be competitive, and maybe get a top 5 @ the Vuelta, only to hurt himself even more.

I hope not, because he's only allowed to do very low intensity training on the rollers in 15 days!

Yep,and in adittion to that,the trend is obvious.2 vuelta starts,2 wins,so he should stick to that
