Ah the typical Ruta del Sol sprint wins. Everyone goes to Algarve when you can get free wins in Spain at the same time haha
Not that many sprinters in Algarve this year either tbf (although a lot better than it is here), everyone is in UAE this time round.

Still 40 km to go. Will be interesting to see if someone manage to organize a chase behind. UAE for Wellens to try to come back? Uno-X had big numbers before Van Gils and Pidcock attacked, maybe they can get together and work effenciently in the last 30k?

Yeah ok, but De Lie, Van Aert, Girmay, Meeus is obviously still pretty good for a .Pro stage race

Don't even know why Bora does this race

Apart from Roglic, their A team is at altitude preparing paris-nice/Tirreno

Their B team is at Algarve
Their c team is at UAE

And they've still entered ruta del sol and sent a bunch of teenages to support Maxime van gels

Man, Jez Cox ... Apparently JSM, the most cooked guy in the front three groups, is a really good and punchy bet for the stage win up against diesel climbers like Rivera, Van Gils and Pidcock.

I think it's over for Van Gils. Sivakov, Berthet (such an underrated rider btw) and Pidcock will just ride fully after the descent.

He's completely done. His only chance now is that it suddenly comes a big group from behind to bring it all together.

Yeah, Uno-X to the rescue. :D

I wonder about the cohesion in the front group though. Mas will probably not contribute much. But those with interest to ride should just ride, for GC.

Sivakov, Berthet and Pidcock will ride. Then Mas and Riviera will maybe to a couple of fake pulls. Pidcock might pull a bit less than the other two. Sivakov securing win and can afford getting dropped a bit in the final kilometer.

Considering the field, Pidcock could still win the GC by putting a few seconds into Sivakov here and then getting bonus seconds in the bunch sprints. Interesting tactical decisions to make for him.

Pidcock stage and sivakov gc
If Rivera continues to just sit on and doesn't get left behind due to some tactical shenanigans, he's my favourite for the stage. He's really fast, and could beat a Pidcock who has worked on the front for 30 km.

Sivakov needs to be clever here, he's worked all day and Berthet/Pidcock aren't a million miles behind in GC.

Mas/Rivera don't really have much motivation to work given the gap.

Composition of the Wellens group is of no use for Van Gils, really. No chance they'll catch the guys in front.

Edit: Oh wait, Aleotti is there. But it's not enough.
