Dangerous for Sivakov that the group lead by so much. Possible to make it tactical and attack him further out by Berthet and Pidcock.

Berthet and Pidock are 23 and 33s behind luckily for him tho. It's something you can play with, but it's of course not ideal.

Van G had basically sat up, so he was going to be caught by that group regardless. If not UAE, then TotalEnergies.
I guess so, but if they had been pulling for a while it could make a difference. As it is they’re still losing time so it doesn’t matter in the end.

Van Gils and Wellens with ~30" up to Pidcock in 3rd in GC.

Hard to see bonus seconds mattering at all. UAE won't chase breaks down before the Golden Kilometers.

Lol Pidcock has almost doubled his professional road wins within two months of this season. He farmed a bit in the Alula tour but there was actual opposition here. Probably good for his confidence, given last season

Guess they wasnt so dumb afterall. Good for UAE your not the the SD, I guess they would not win as much, just a wild guess.
It must have been bad tactics from Uae again today... Sivakov who is absolutely not the fastest against Pidcock... Sivakov should not have driven and should have waited for Soler and Wellens to clear the numbers from Uae... :D

It's a shame we didn't see more of the stage today, but from the updates it's clear that they went on the offensive from the first km. And it paid off with a great situation as the coverage started, but worth keeping in mind that if Van Gils had been able to hold the wheel of Pidcock over the top of the climb, he would have been in an excellent situation to win the race with Wellens dropped and 7" on Sivakov from the first stage.

Gosh yeah, like if if

If Van Gils had not been able to return yesterday after missing a corner, the gc would already have been done yesterday.
