Overall seems like a bit of a non-event, no one in outstanding climbing form? Doubt Chernetskiy will survive for the win, Samu v Nocentini v Landa?

winning stages in burgos doesn't make you a really good rider

That's why I used the word "becoming". And it's not like he won against complete nobodies. The way he won these stages is a clear sign of great potential. Not all riders are super talented and start winning big races from the age of 22. These stage wins are a new, nice step in his progression

Somehow, I don't really know anything about him at all.

He won already three bunch sprints in Belgian .1 races in his first months as pro. The last two years he's turning into a good allrounder

He is finished in Burgos now as he is heading back to Belgium;

"Keukeleire will withdraw from Vuelta a Burgos tonight. He heads home to Belgium where he will continue his preparation for the Eneco Tour that begins on Monday.
“It was always the plan that I might only race three stages of Burgos,” Keukeleire explained. “I’ll have a little bit of recovery at home before Eneco. The race next week is another important target for me
.”

OGE have utilized Keukeleire well in the first 2 years and it looks like they will be using riders like him, Mathews and Docker to fill the vacancy left by Langeveld.

Jens has certainly developed in the last two years,” added Sport Director Matt White. “He’s only four years in as a professional, and he can already handle a very big workload as we saw with racing the Classics and then going straight to the Giro.”

In the next two years, Keukeleire sees himself continuing to race both one day races and tours, with a goal of continued improvement in the Classics. He finished in seventh place at Dwars door Vlaanderen and supported Sebastian Langeveld to top ten finishes at Paris-Roubaix, Ronde van Vlaanderen and E3 Harelbeke.

“I love the one day races the most,” Keukeleire said. “Having many nice races in the beginning of the season so close to where I live makes them an obvious target.”

“We see a future for Jens as he grows into a leader for the one day races, especially those in Belgium,” added White. “He has a big potential for this style of racing
.”

Who else would you expect to compete? Nibali doesn't want to win here and will probably lose minutes. Quintana's "attacks" have been far from impressive (though not necessarily indicative of how he will climb). Cataldo is of course a chance but hasn't climbed well since March. Caruso has been working for Chernetskiy every day. Edet will probably finish fairly close, but just isn't good enough to win.

quintana will obviously win here. quintana doesn't attack he rides tempo. he's not explosive at all. it's hilarious that you think you can see his attacks so far as not impressive considering we've had not one mountain yet, where he could try

Yeh but I don't know why he'd go to the front and "attack" at a random point of the race when he can just beat everyone easily on Sunday. Sure he's a chance, but he's been completely unspectacular since the Tour and this is a race in the trough of his form cycle. There's no reason to expect anything from him and if pulls it will be a pretty impressive feat.

Unspectacular since the Tour? Did you watch San Sebastian? How often has the main group at Jaizkibel been trimmed down to less than 10 men?

what about today?

Colli maybe? His first 3 days were not bad after such a long race break.

Little Iglinskiy also seems to be in a good shape.
