Arrived just in time for.. PCS results.

This is such a good stage. Really glad what they did with this climb, this is just better than the old model and you still have a hard MTF in the race.
Yeah it works really nice in Burgos. In the Vuelta I don't think it would, but you can easily make a MTF on Portillo de Lunada right at the end of the descent and have an 11km 5% climb to finish one for a solid 1-2 punch.

Nice win for Roglic, a good 4 way battle at the end

it worked in terms of keeping the GC open, but did anyone really like the stage today? I thought it was as boring as it can get, to be honest.

It's a good thing we only have individual riders and not entire pelotons who grew up on Zwift - imagine the amount of crashes in a race with 150 Jay Vines...
He didn't grow up on Zwift. But I wonder if he was a better bike handler before he moved to Watopia...

Sounds like you have a pretty high bar for what’s entertaining. I thought it was a nice stage, interesting to see big guns making the race on the climb to form a superb lead group in a small race. Very cool landscape after the summit and interesting descent. Yeah, there wasn’t any attacking after that—which is seemed like Howson and maybe Vlasov should have tried.

Congratulations to Primož Roglič for winning the sprint.

Beautiful day of racing. UAE did the expected thing. Was a bit surprised they dropped JV so early and isolated Roglič. In the end they profited for racing so aggressive by Yates moving to podium position. They for sure will try again. As for tomorrow i guess a lot of potential for Rogla to stretch his legs again.

Bennett wanted to make up for yesterday and Vine did a stellar job. Going all in so early in the climb for Yates, that likely surprised JV a bit. Better it happened today then a couple of weeks from now. Lead out tomorrow and stellar job at ultimate stage is a must. To justify Vuelta selection.

Emil Axelgaard 's update from yesterday was pretty funny:

"Bennett is also taking turns in the third group. So right now, Bennett is chasing Vine who is chasing Yates who is doing everything in his power to not let Vine get back up again."

The team is ready for the Vuelta.

They would have to chase either way, even if they had a guy in the break, because Vine is at ~5 minutes.

Looks like the break will take the stage.

My guess is that we'll see another ROGLSTOMP in the peloton. Those last 500m look set for Primoz to possibly get a couple of seconds.
