valverde raced perfectly! he didn't race well when he left quintana going away! Quintana is so bad these days, that even valverde past his prime, is a better climber than him.

That little dig just as Quintana was slightly making his way back, it’s very personal obviously. No one is allowed to speak back to the great Valverde
I think Quintana seemed quite content to pace himself, rather than making any real effort to get back on to the front. And he did it pretty well.

Madrazo does the Yo Yo well!! Chapeau what a comeback :).

MAL looks strong, as does Don Bala and Primoz is finding his legs. Should be a good race!

Where did Aru finish? Just when I was thinking he might come to life.

Nice ride by Sepp Kuss, good job lad :)

Why are people complaining about valverde? Quintana is not gonna win this race and he won't even be close. Valverde has every reason to ride for himself and it's surely not in his interest that Lopez gains half a minute
I agree. Quintana might come back but Valverde cannot hold back for an "If".

Valverdes fat ego and the crap he pulled at the Tour de France by lying about Quintana might cost him his strongest helper

What's that now?

Valverde having a fat ego? That seems like a rather.... uninformed comment.

Now Pogacar is extremely talented, but a lot of people should have a good look at themselves when a first year pro is 4th from the main group.

VMT, I think there is a lot of manufactured drama about this. Seems like they are both just riding their own race as co-leaders and, so far, both seem to be doing pretty well out of it.

Quite painful to watch Aru dropping from 20 riders after all the good signs he showed in the past couple of months.
Makes me wonder if he will ever be back.

Valverde did his thing. Quintana didn't because he couldn't. It's an accident they are on the same team.

They have always raced like this. If I remember correctly. Neither Quintana nor Valverde care about it.

Exactly, and why should they? 3rd and 4th overall, both within striking distance of the red jersey. Plus a stage win in the bag so far as well. It's not like Valverde sitting up would have changed anything anyway, Lopez would have still attacked and Quintana dropped back immediately.

After being out for so long I'm surprised he decided to do two grand tours this year. Chaves is another one who looks nothing like he used to but he's also had many problems.
