I don't know about you but for me the stage was very enjoyable. Good racing, quite unpredictable. I even clapped my hands for the sensational winner, which had to look stupid if someone saw me...

None of them was ever likely to win today's stage, so they all stayed with the green jersey to make sure he was inside the limit. No big mystery.

Ya, I mean I still think his actions were bad and Movistar need to do something cos you can't back him in a race now, but hope he doesn't do something serious.

Also if he actually has gone off by himself, then questions would need to be asked of Movistar here as you can't really allow that to happen. There is a duty of care to an employee even in a situation like this.

I don't think he'd be a successful stage hunter, much like Quintana isn't. The stages he excels at aren't even guaranteed every year (the high altitude steep MTFs). Pinot at least at his best is a Lombardia winner, and can win out of a small group finish after a hilly/mountainish stage which I don't really think Lopez can.

Maybe he can be a mountain domestique in the vein of someone like Kuss but he'd have to show that really. His days as a GC leader are over at a major team after today.

I haven't watched a replay, but think I saw Lopez marking a first attack from Bernal and when everyone reached to them Yates made the counterattack that created the gap. I'd say Lopez and Bernal didn't have the legs to follow.

The Vuelta is never awful. I thought the first two weeks were too easy compared to recent years, but it was still fun. The Vuelta may or may not be competitive, but it’s never boring.

I'd like to see more GTs finish with a stage like today's as the last GC stage; hard enough to be really selective, but a finish that actually has to be raced.

Stage hunter really? and not even guarantee because he only excel in high mountains which are not guaranteed at the Tour? LOL. And your best example is Pinot who is hanging on the rope with his own demons.
I think he should retire based on your assessment. Don't you think?
