None of them was ever likely to win today's stage, so they all stayed with the green jersey to make sure he was inside the limit. No big mystery.WTF!!... The last eight riders of the stage classement of today are the eight Deceuninck riders... What happened there to the best team in the world?!
MAL reported off the bike having a word with his DS
they were shepherding Jacobson in under the time limit. Though, for sure, shepherds and wolves aren't usually a good match!WTF!!... The last eight riders of the stage classement of today are the eight Deceuninck riders... What happened there to the best team in the world?!
Then Ineos could have been 4th and 5th with White but it happens. He was done. He was shaving trouble following the initial attacks. He wasn’t going to move up.
Officially a stage hunter now like Quintana and maybe Pinot as well. Maybe he was thinking of another possible TT meltdown instead of watching Haig's back wheel ? Talented rider but erratic in many ways.i would prefer if his inconsistency consisted of deciding to blow up the race randomly than throwing a tantrum
i dont mind clowns, but they need to keep honking on the bike, not off of it
Didn’t David Millar throw his bike off into a ditch?Ranks right up there with Riis throwing his TT bike!
Yes one had absolutely no idea which rider were popping up next! It was insane!I don't know about you but for me the stage was very enjoyable. Good racing, quite unpredictable. I even clapped my hands for the sensational winner, which had to look stupid if someone saw me...

They were 5th and 6th at the start of the stageThen Ineos could have been 4th and 5th with White but it happens.
Yeah and Lopez wasn’t there so they all would have moved up of Bernal wasn’t marking Lopez. They were 5th and 6th at the start of the stage
Yes I am extremely uncomfortable until I know this guy is safe.Ya, I mean I still think his actions were bad and Movistar need to do something cos you can't back him in a race now, but hope he doesn't do something serious.
Also if he actually has gone off by himself, then questions would need to be asked of Movistar here as you can't really allow that to happen. There is a duty of care to an employee even in a situation like this.

I haven't watched a replay, but think I saw Lopez marking a first attack from Bernal and when everyone reached to them Yates made the counterattack that created the gap. I'd say Lopez and Bernal didn't have the legs to follow.Yeah and Lopez wasn’t there so they all would have moved up of Bernal wasn’t marking Lopez.
2011 TDF level, perhaps?Alright guys who still wants to argue this Vuelta was completely awful?
Alright guys who still wants to argue this Vuelta was completely awful?
The Vuelta is never awful. I thought the first two weeks were too easy compared to recent years, but it was still fun. The Vuelta may or may not be competitive, but it’s never boring.Alright guys who still wants to argue this Vuelta was completely awful?
I'd like to see more GTs finish with a stage like today's as the last GC stage; hard enough to be really selective, but a finish that actually has to be raced.Alright guys who still wants to argue this Vuelta was completely awful?
When I saw him riding up I was thinking who is this Voeckler impersonator. XDView: https://imgur.com/DUz9ZZG

I know is is more likely a face contorted by effort, but I like to see it as a 'gotcha' guffaw.
If live betting in cycling were available, I wonder what odds one could have got on Champoussin with 2km to go.
Stage hunter really? and not even guarantee because he only excel in high mountains which are not guaranteed at the Tour? LOL. And your best example is Pinot who is hanging on the rope with his own demons.I don't think he'd be a successful stage hunter, much like Quintana isn't. The stages he excels at aren't even guaranteed every year (the high altitude steep MTFs). Pinot at least at his best is a Lombardia winner, and can win out of a small group finish after a hilly/mountainish stage which I don't really think Lopez can.
Maybe he can be a mountain domestique in the vein of someone like Kuss but he'd have to show that really. His days as a GC leader are over at a major team after today.
When he went and Roglic sat up I thought that's probably it tbh.View: https://imgur.com/DUz9ZZG
