MAL reported off the bike having a word with his DS
WTF!!... The last eight riders of the stage classement of today are the eight Deceuninck riders... What happened there to the best team in the world?!
they were shepherding Jacobson in under the time limit. Though, for sure, shepherds and wolves aren't usually a good match!

i would prefer if his inconsistency consisted of deciding to blow up the race randomly than throwing a tantrum

i dont mind clowns, but they need to keep honking on the bike, not off of it
Officially a stage hunter now like Quintana and maybe Pinot as well. Maybe he was thinking of another possible TT meltdown instead of watching Haig's back wheel ? Talented rider but erratic in many ways.

Ya, I mean I still think his actions were bad and Movistar need to do something cos you can't back him in a race now, but hope he doesn't do something serious.

Also if he actually has gone off by himself, then questions would need to be asked of Movistar here as you can't really allow that to happen. There is a duty of care to an employee even in a situation like this.
Yes I am extremely uncomfortable until I know this guy is safe.

Didn’t David Millar throw his bike off into a ditch?

The best Millar DNF-slash- tantrum was getting almost to the top of Angliru in 2002 and then quitting.

Ok, as it's a slight downhill finish, almost to the finish would be a more fitting description

I don't think he'd be a successful stage hunter, much like Quintana isn't. The stages he excels at aren't even guaranteed every year (the high altitude steep MTFs). Pinot at least at his best is a Lombardia winner, and can win out of a small group finish after a hilly/mountainish stage which I don't really think Lopez can.

Maybe he can be a mountain domestique in the vein of someone like Kuss but he'd have to show that really. His days as a GC leader are over at a major team after today.

Stage hunter really? and not even guarantee because he only excel in high mountains which are not guaranteed at the Tour? LOL. And your best example is Pinot who is hanging on the rope with his own demons.
I think he should retire based on your assessment. Don't you think?
