I would have thought not taking points from Bardet would have been the deal here to make sure DSM keeps on working instead of trying to win the stage with the smallest gap possible

And up and down and up and down they go, the scenery is interesting today. Lots of trees right now (yay!) and earlier I saw an old-world town that reminded me of some jigsaw puzzles I've worked on. Now that's what I'm talking about!

It's interesting that Jumbo are still working to keep this group close. Is Polanc, Großschartner and Haig gaining time an acceptable tradeoff for Kuss also becoming a potential GC threat? More riders up there on GC is more of a problem for Movistar and Ineos than it is for Jumbo (assuming Roglic continues to look a level above the rest).

It's a fairly irrelevant question at this stage though because it's basically a stalemate with Trentin and Arensman (now Hamilton) cancelling out Gesink and Oomen. Probably better for Jumbo to keep this tempo up instead of dropping the pace and risking more attacks from dangerous riders in the peloton.

I think/hope that the plan is to go hard on the penultimate climb to try to isolate Roglic for the final one so leaving Jumbo to work makes sense

Yeah and that was obviously ***. The guy said it was just a result of the echelons. Sure bud, youre gonna lose more than 2 minutes on a 2km climb because there was some echelon action before.

And you're definitely not going to be dropped on the first climb the next day because of it either.

Rojas launches Valverde with Carapaz on his wheel.

Yates and Poels(?) there too, Kruijswijk pulls the bunch.
