Same here. And honestly I don‘t really get these words on Evenepoel of both of them Daniel Friebe and Brian Nygaard, the latter even said he did a survey on if and how much people are happy when Evenepoel wins races..
Shouldn‘t be the usual Cycling Podcast standard, should it… just random bashing for no reason.

So yeah - I want him to dominate today and on Sunday. Next week should be not a hard one for him if he‘s still almost three minutes up in GC at that point.
Let‘s just hope there are no more Covid related DNS during the next days.
Brian Nygaard is just a sorry hater, unfortunately. Never liked his elitist way of communicating cycling either, whether that was as a commentator or a writer. For christ sake, the man had Simon Yates as a favorite which should tell you all about how objective his predictions/arguments were.

So Pinot misses the break again and FDJ are driving the peloton. It's like deja vu from stage 8. Even if they pull the 32 man break back Pinot will get done up like a kipper by Vine again on the last climb. If the break stays away I can only see one winner of the stage today.

No need for Quick Step to work too hard today. They can afford to let the lead group take 10-12 minutes today and they still have Vervaeke to drop back from the break if required to do some pacing on the final climb.

Barring a split in the break I can't see how he gets beat given his form. The rest of the riders in the break will be thinking the same.

There are some good and proven climbers in this group. Of course his form is great, but the climb also isn't that steep, so he might not get rid of them easily and might have to cover attacks and then loose.

Soler wasn't that much worse than Vine in the previous breakaway. so if he can stay on his wheel, which given the gradients should give a better benifit (especially after the steep part) he might have a small shot to content with Vine. (On the other hand, it looks like i'm grasping for straws to make it attractive... Vine could also be worse than 1st week, but he had 4 rest days by now...)

The other climbers will all be looking at Vine so if there are several attacks the other riders need to let Vine do the chasing and hope that he burns himself out. Or he might just ride away from them all early and go for a long one. On form Soler would appear to be the next best although Carapaz is a sly fox tactically so he might have something up his sleeve.

Was that a survey of riders or of other bourgeois media types? I find the Cycling Podcast hard going at the best of times and shut down that episode as there was too much crap about wine, cricket and taking the piss out of chicken farmers.

They miss Richard Moore.

As does the world.

A long one isn't realistic imo, at least not alone, the climb really isn't steep on a lot of it's sections so the wind will play a different role. He might want to split up the break earlier in the climb to have to worry about less riders.
I agree about Soler and Carapaz.
