Why don’t they show the Remco group more—did a bunch of the camera motos crash out?

It's the Vuelta, what do you expect? Quality coverage?!

It would be awful if Remco and Almeida are sick but knowing Remco pulled out of Giro proactively when he was still performing well, it would be a bit of a surprise here, unless he really didn’t think he’d be affected until after the stage started.
It will surprise me if today is anywhere comparable to the Giro. In the Giro he deduced to leave after testing positive for Covid. I don’t think we have any reason to believe a scenario where he tested positive on Covid before this stage and still started.
And if that very unlikely scenario isn’t the case I don’t think there is any substance in what you are speculating about.

The excuses will be flowing out of the Soudal bus when we all know the boy just doesn't have the legs. He needs to stick to one days and week longs as I suggested on the last mountain stage.
I was looking at a picture of him vs Roglic/Ving after the TT. Compared to them he looks like a brick; I'd rather seen him try to go for Roubaix than engaged in a fruitless quest to compete with Jonas and Pog, etc.

We have a group with every single rider in the top 15 of GC, except for Almeida (6) and Evenepoel (3) and some people here try to seriously argue that Remco is dropped beause he doesn't have it.

I don't know what to feel bad about today: Remco and Almeida ill or reading this forum (and I already ignored half of it).
Remco and Almeida are simply not GT riders and they can’t climb with the best. They can’t even climb with Steff Cras. It’s simple. Everyone except the blind die hard fans knew this was coming.
