Catching a little bit on time on the flat doesn’t cost that much and then they can go slow up the climb without risking giving the group 6 minutes or more.

To go easy. If they bring the break back there will just be more attacking and hard riding. They are not going hard to hold this gap.

There is just no chance that Alpecin with their 4 doms (including Janssens who's in front group) is going to catch Remco. Maybe others from the front group so that Groves can get some points himself but this is a bit weird.
