Do I think that if Vingegaard wants to attack Kuss to win the Vuelta he should do so? Yeah, sure.

Do I think it would be a lot more elegant to take the opportunity to gift the gc win to an extremely loyal superdom. Absolutely yes.
I agree with this. At the same time, week 3 of this grand tour may be catching up with Sepp. I hope not, but today is probably the weakest he's looked in the Vuelta, so far.

Missed the stage.

Just seeing the time gaps now. Must have been a total beat down. Vingegaard will be in red come Sunday for sure.

By the way, UAE do not deserve to have the word ‘team’ in their official name.
I thought that Almeida has to be the shittiest teammate ever at one point.

If Ayuso wants to win atop the Angliru and enter the podium it might be actually beneficial to create a situation of concurrency between the 3 Jumbo riders.

Kuss saying on TV the plan was to try to win the stage with Roglic. Looks like a 1-2 where 2 never happened.

this always made a lot more sense. give the intiative to Mas and Ayuso, use the team strength to control and let Roglic/Vingegaard sprint for the win.

I can see both sides.

Ultimately, I think that even though I don't much like Vingegaard, when he proves to be the strongest rider in a Grand Tour, I think it's fair he takes it if he can. Just as I'm typing this, Sepp Kuss says the exact same thing on my TV.

But Roglic basically never attacks from more than 1K out. At least not successfully. It would be strange if he suddenly did it when a teammate is struggling.

Vingegaard does it often and very successfully.

Today he was not as strong as Jonas or he could at least "sprint" for 3rd.

But both Rogla and Kuss would easily follow Jonas wheel on Saturday. I think team ordered passive riding as they did not want any other passengers along.

I agree that long range attacks are not Rogla's forte but I think he could follow if the team did not have other plans.

I can see Jonas maybe riding with Sepp tomorrow because he went so deep today. But Jonas has such amazing powers of recovery, you never know.

Can't believe vingegard is getting criticised for racing to win
it's fascinating to see, the intense butthurt some people can rally after an exciting racing finish where the superb number one on the globe (UCI world stage) who even came here as captain after a double Tour de France win... reaches for the win to honor his best friend who is constantly monitoring him out of trouble on the big tours and with him 90% of the time and now fighting for his life, likely in coma after being revived..

Jonas was the strongest rider today and it WAS the plan to go for the stage win....Kuss, Vingegaard or Roglic, take your pick. and then dedicate the win to Nathan Van Hooydonck. (as we saw), Jonas is very close to Van Hooydonck as his personal peloton keeper
Seb Kuss tried to follow Roglic when he tried to attack after Jonas, but simply couldn't... should they cancel the finish to not offend somebody?

Is Jonas the strongest rider ? from here it does look like it, and if it wasn't for the +3min breakaway gain on stage 6 to Sebb, this wouldn't be up for debate.
would be one sad race, if the strongest rider, should just parade to the finish line to not offend these sad weak souls on social media/web - that sadly have a tendency to get triggered on other people's behalf and cant take sport for what it is, pure entertainment ... its all about the racing drama.. let them fight and give us viewers a show.

that is why we are investing our time watching it...

The problem is that Roglic and Kuss just have to sit there and accept it. They're the ones who lost today.
I would say Mas and Ayuso are the biggest losers—if they still have the faintest of hopes to challenge for a win, now they’ll have to catch both Kuss and Vingegaard.

It was a net positive for the team and it’s not like either of them had the legs to follow Vingegaard. Yes, they lost more time than they might have, but only because UAE are idiots.

I assume the team will be riding for Roglič tomorrow, unless Vingegaard follows an attack from someone else.
Why ride for Roglic on Angliru when you have Jonas? Makes no sense. Roglic may well attack first, but Mas and Ayuso will mark him 100%.

Eurosport headline resorted to "Vingegaard took more time on Kuss and Roglic", they gave up trying to understand this (not that they often try to, even for more simple things)
