Bobke Roll is pretty unhappy that Primoz rode for victory. He even suggested Sepptimus should consider changing teams. I know he loves Sepp because they both have strong ties to Durango, Colorado, but at the end of the day, Sepp has said he wants no gifts. He wants to be a true champion.
Of course he’s unhappy. Sepp is American and Jonas isn’t. Bob is displaying normal American nationalism.

It's the only excitement left.

For me it’s simply that I love seeing a career domestique take a huge win. It’s also totally fascinating watching the teammates he usually works for slowly take it from him and people’s varying reactions to that.

It saves the race for me, as they could as well decide, within the team, that they stop racing against eachother and stick to the current GC standings.

They don't do that. It's kind of ridiculous in a way, but also logic and very entertaining in another way.

The race would be worthless if they didn't race against eachother, but now we have a real bike race, and if (only if) Kuss wins this, it will feel like a very satisfying result.
Let me rephrase. I don’t understand why (some) people are getting massively worked up about Jumbo not gifting Kuss the win, nor why a smaller group of people is getting massively worked up about anyone who doesn’t want Vingegaard to beat Kuss. It’s not as bad on this forum as it is elsewhere, thankfully. Obviously I have no issue with people having a preference between the two (three?) options.

And Jumbo-Visma DS said they couldn't heard what Kuss said. What is true? :D
Clearly this means the riders only have a direct radio connection to their Twitter admin who then gives all the information to the team car and it was this second connection that didn't work.

Roglic won today as he should have yesterday when Jonas decided to flip the script. In the process they put everyone else out of the picture and didn't make a move until the last 3km. Sepp maintained his tempo and lost some time but appeared to be in contact with the DS when he started to fade. We can't be sure that the instructions to carry on weren't given to Roglic and Vindegaard. Vingo fought to get back to Roglic's wheel and didn't look back to Kuss so JV DS direction was to win the stage.

I don't particularly like how it ended for Kuss but JV finished 1,2,3. And those that chirped that Roglic was done and couldn't drop Mas and Ayuso....anything to add to your predictions?

Congrats to Sepp on his birthday and well done to Roglic with the stage win and giving is a little fight, Vingegaard seemed like he just cruised today.

Which Jumbo migrates first might be more interesting than which one wins the overall..................but the the smiles from Kuss seem to be getting tighter and tighter............wonder what he said to his team when his two team mates started to gap him. ?

It has been established since 1907 that it is not a “gift” to ride in the interests of a teammate who is ahead of you in general classification in a grand tour.

Lol wtf is going on with Vingegaard. "To be honest I actually hope that he will keep the jersey. I would love to see Sepp winning the Vuelta a España" Those are direct quotes from his Interview at the finish... I dont even know what to say... Just let Roglic take 20 Seconds then and pace Sepp? Maybe dont attack yesterday and take more than a minute on him? This makes absolutely no sense. Most absurd part is that from his facial expresion and the tone of his voice he seems somewhat genuine to me

Sepp giving another good interview, definitely smoothing things for the team. I thought he rode a fantastic race, today. After losing contact with Roglic and Vingegaard and going that deep, he did not blow up. Thanks to Landa, he even clawed back a couple seconds.

It has always been a team sport, with egos breaking that dynamic many times...this is one of those times, but with the work Kuss has done for both of the divas on JV, he deserves their support. Kuss is being gracious in his interview...Roglic and Jonas do not deserve his loyalty, but he gives it anyway, just like he did for them in the Giro and Tour. JV needs to be broken up anyway, so maybe this will be the race that does that.

Or win the stage. Vingo could've paced Kuss but he never looked back.
According to Vingegaard, they have agreed beforehand not to wait for each other in case they got dropped. The only thing we know for certain is probably that he'd rather see Kuss win than Roglič, if he can't win himself.

I mean, they've just destroyed Pogacar in TDF a month ago, for sure they were worried sick about Ayuso and Mas.

I think they were quite worried about Ayuso and Evenepoel, and they obviously didn't know how Vingegaard would recover after the Tour.

Plausible deniability, quite smart really, he was hoping Roglic would pace him into the red jersey today. Not a chance he's happy with the situation as is.

If the three finished together he would’ve won the stage anyway. They want Kuss to crack, it’s so obvious, they can’t say it but they probably expected him to crack by now and are panicking. They being Roglic and Vingegaard of course. The stupid thing with Roglic is he has zero chance of winning anyway, he is never dropping Vingegaard, so he should be all in for Kuss now

Like I said earlier. I honestly don't think he is the sharpest tool in the shed. I think his interview was honest.
