Huge difference between 2009 and this.Who is that on your icon photo?
Of course he’s unhappy. Sepp is American and Jonas isn’t. Bob is displaying normal American nationalism.Bobke Roll is pretty unhappy that Primoz rode for victory. He even suggested Sepptimus should consider changing teams. I know he loves Sepp because they both have strong ties to Durango, Colorado, but at the end of the day, Sepp has said he wants no gifts. He wants to be a true champion.
It's the only excitement left.
For me it’s simply that I love seeing a career domestique take a huge win. It’s also totally fascinating watching the teammates he usually works for slowly take it from him and people’s varying reactions to that.
Let me rephrase. I don’t understand why (some) people are getting massively worked up about Jumbo not gifting Kuss the win, nor why a smaller group of people is getting massively worked up about anyone who doesn’t want Vingegaard to beat Kuss. It’s not as bad on this forum as it is elsewhere, thankfully. Obviously I have no issue with people having a preference between the two (three?) options. It saves the race for me, as they could as well decide, within the team, that they stop racing against eachother and stick to the current GC standings.
They don't do that. It's kind of ridiculous in a way, but also logic and very entertaining in another way.
The race would be worthless if they didn't race against eachother, but now we have a real bike race, and if (only if) Kuss wins this, it will feel like a very satisfying result.
Clearly this means the riders only have a direct radio connection to their Twitter admin who then gives all the information to the team car and it was this second connection that didn't work. And Jumbo-Visma DS said they couldn't heard what Kuss said. What is true?![]()
Or win the stage. Vingo could've paced Kuss but he never looked back.Because he wanted to drop Kuss and Vingegaard
I mean, they've just destroyed Pogacar in TDF a month ago, for sure they were worried sick about Ayuso and Mas.They couldn't exactly know how strong their competitors would be beforehand.
It has been established since 1907 that it is not a “gift” to ride in the interests of a teammate who is ahead of you in general classification in a grand tour.Let me rephrase. They're closer to UAE accidental tridente than to the Jumbo one
Sky lost the 2011 Vuelta with that logic (until Cobo got popped, of course). It has been established since 1907 that it is not a “gift” to ride in the interests of a teammate who is ahead of you in general classification in a grand tour.
It has always been a team sport, with egos breaking that dynamic many times...this is one of those times, but with the work Kuss has done for both of the divas on JV, he deserves their support. Kuss is being gracious in his interview...Roglic and Jonas do not deserve his loyalty, but he gives it anyway, just like he did for them in the Giro and Tour. JV needs to be broken up anyway, so maybe this will be the race that does that.It has been established since 1907 that it is not a “gift” to ride in the interests of a teammate who is ahead of you in general classification in a grand tour.
According to Vingegaard, they have agreed beforehand not to wait for each other in case they got dropped. The only thing we know for certain is probably that he'd rather see Kuss win than Roglič, if he can't win himself.Or win the stage. Vingo could've paced Kuss but he never looked back.

Plausible deniability, quite smart really, he was hoping Roglic would pace him into the red jersey today. Not a chance he's happy with the situation as is.Lol wtf is going on with Vingegaard. "To be honest I actually hope that he will keep the jersey. I would love to see Sepp winning the Vuelta a España" Those are direct quotes from his Interview at the finish... I dont even know what to say... Just let Roglic take 20 Seconds then and pace Sepp? Maybe dont attack yesterday and take more than a minute on him? This makes absolutely no sense. Most absurd part is that from his facial expresion and the tone of his voice he seems somewhat genuine to me

Like I said earlier. I honestly don't think he is the sharpest tool in the shed. I think his interview was honest.Lol wtf is going on with Vingegaard.
