Vuelta a España Vuelta a España 2023, stage 17: Ribadesella/Ribadeseya - Altu de l’Angliru, 124.4k

Remco evidently dropped a bundle of time in preparation for a stage win from the break tomorrow so that makes him the big favourite. Other riders who may have a go from the break would be Bardet, Carthy, Martinez, Kamna and Poels. Still have memories of Poels accelerating up the inside of a hairpin riding up Angliru.

Remco doesn't beat the GC riders up Angliru but I think he beats all the other breakaway contenders by just dieseling up the climb. Vingegaard to launch from the GC group and ride himself into red. Mas to be the best of the rest.
Remco will pull the break since they will all make him work.
Then he blows on the Angliru with the GC riders passing him with still a few k to go
He needs to stay with the leaders and test himself

Any special occasion for Vingegaard to attack tomorrow?
If they waste their whole team to pull in a breakaway.. You can likely conclude that they have a plan, also tomorrow..
but I guess for some it would be a success, For Jumbo Visma if they used all that energy today, as a full team to get the breakaway in, and then UAE got the stage, as both Roglic and Sebb Kuss were not feeling solid today and UAE had landed the stagewin as they came in 43sec. after Jonas.

What a tribute to Nathan in coma, hmm sorry bud, we tried but our big main captain and the dude who is above everybody else in the final third week.. was grounded to not offend some weak souls online, who is hard set on protecting Sebb Kuss +3min free gain from a group breakaway on stage6

You don't know what would have happened, if Vingegaard hadn't attacked. If JV had kept things together for a Roglič sprint, then FFB definitely wouldn't have won the stage.

Stop with this coma guy NONSENSE. Is this the only thing you can put together? If anyone would REALLY care about Nathan, they would drop what they are doing and be sitting beside his bed. Anything else is PR ***. Winning for someone else... Yeah right, THAT will help.

There is no rider in the peloton that could beat all three JV riders on this Hill. They would/could win it with a plan they had (Roglič) but somehow Jonas knows best here and he just has to win it for someone else. Not himself. Someone else in coma needs help and Jonas delivers. Please.

You seem very confused, about what is up or down, with this so-called "Nathan dude in a coma"
But sure, I don't wanna pop your ballon, you seem to need it.

Your right, this Nathan friend of his, that Jonas claimed is or was in a coma.. is just a bad excuse that Vingegaard used after the stage, to steer away blame.
what a rancid dude, that he then gets the whole team to chase the breakaway just so he can do this attack ***-move under the excuse of this Nathan-coma-friend of his.
- and the fact that Vingegaard was weeping like a schoolgirl on camera and couldn't stop the tears from rolling in front of the media... was all acting for the media about this Nathan dude of his...

though, if it on the other hand was Van Aert or Van Hooydonck who suddenly after Tour of Britain had had a heart stop and massive crash with their pregnant girlfriend, and had to be revived from death and kept in a coma until the amount of brain injuries.. one could understand it.
.
Your right.- your heavy, like he ain't my brother, that's for sure, but you're 100% right.

Dont worry about it, your ballon is still there....let's move on.. no more talks about this Nathan-friend of Jonas.

lol...remco cannot win a gc as long as there are in shape, un crashed, real gc contenders. his planned rest on the previous stage...whatever it was, since he did not wish to suffer and lose to supperior gc riders...3 of them...and the subsequent gimmick rides to try to win stages...and twatter fans...i hope are all shut down. only way remco diesels up the climb is if the Real gc riders allow his joke rides as no threat to the real gc riders. he will be able to be shut down by any of the jumbo riders if they see fit

You have no idea why Vingegaard won this stage, nor do I. He did get on the radio right before he launched his attack, so I can assume that his DS approved it. I do know that Jonas didn't take the red jersey from Kuss and that he dedicated his win to his "best friend", Van Hooydonck. If you think that this makes him "a rancid dude" then I will let the group decide.

Kuss is gonna give Vingo The Look and then sail up the road to seal his Vuelta win
Kuss is not gonna do jack... its his two captains who sprinted ahead of him today, and the only reason that he is in front of these two captains.. is because of a free gain on stage6 that he landed with a group breakaway.. and a breakaway that was gifted and alloved by his two captains.

Without that +3min group breakaway Kuss would be spot6 in the GC.. that is also impressive, but it's still P6 and not P1

This is a fr34king Grand Tour, let the strongest rider win and at least give us a race.. would be hilarious if we now gift Grand Tours and people wants the best riders to neutralize all the big stages just so a dude that got a 3min headstart can hold the small gain to the finish line.

Race "goddammit", as Rich Piana would have said.
