Vuelta a España Vuelta a España 2025, Stage 13: Cabezón de la Sal – L’Angliru (202.5k)

It’s a stiff enough climb that even walking up it is challenging, so that should diminish the number of folks showing up just to protest. Though we’ll still some crossover protester/cycling fan individuals, who I hope have enough respect for the latter to not interfere.
This is what im hoping too, that it's too steep to them have the energy to arrive in masses.

I think today should be a stage for the GC riders. Vingegaard is the obvious favourite and should finish the stage with a confortable lead on GC but after stage 11, I am really curious about Pidcock, I think Angliru could actually be a good climb for him as he is just 58kg.

MTF's like these usually don't provide as big gaps as one might expect. The last five times Angliru has been the MTF, the margin between 1st and 5th has been:

2023: 44 seconds
2020: 26 seconds
2017: 51 seconds
2013: 54 seconds
2012: 1 minute 21 seconds

So I don't expect huge gaps today either.

2013 is hard to use as a measurement, because it was won by Elissonde from a break (I believe - correct me if I'm wrong).

Even Contador had a gap in the beginning of the climb ug I remember correctly.
So if you take that into account, the gaps are even smaller.

I did some research last night and in the last few editions we have like 7 people within a minute.

Noticing some Portuguese-based backlash on social media regarding Marc's antics, looking forward to seeing what happens today!

It would be funny if the Portoguese backlash against Soler has only just started, given that he has spent the last 4 years in some kind of psychosis when he was supposed to be helping Almida. Meanwhile those Portoguese called for the crucifixion of Masnada after 1 giro stage when he tried his best!
