Woet Pouls on angliru

-2nd in 2011
-2nd in 2017
-8th in 2020
-5th in 2023

Hopefully he can do a podium today. I think buitrago can beat him. Astana should try to drive the break clear with Woet and a couple of teammates to pull

didn't expect such a large group today, but Tiberi, Cepeda and Braz Afonso seem to be more or less the only climbers in there, and two of them have no shape at all.

What is Oliveira doing in G2 (according to PCS)?

Even portuguese are stabbing Almeida in the back now, aren't they?

I have mixed feelings about this trend. One thing I like about road racing is the real-world aspect of it. So I like places that people would - or did - ride electively.
Me too! You could construct thousands of steep climbs in Europe if you started to pave gravel roads. I'm basically against Mickey Mouse routes, but it's not like I wouldn't watch races taking place under those conditions.

Piddlers team appears to be some random blokes from down the pub who have been told to get in TV exposure breaks every day so Almeida not having an all star cast around him does fall a bit on deaf ears.

Gall's shape seems to be going downhill much faster than he has ever done on a bike. Armirail getting into the top 6 yesterday could also mean they won't sacrifice everything for him if he gets dropped early on the climbs, although Armirail isn't exactly that reliable either.

Pedersen will probably attack before Mozqueta.

I wouldn't read too much into it yet. Gall is never really comfortable with a fast start, and today it was always going to come back together anyway.

Of course, there is a chance that he just got sick since then, but he still looked very good to me in Bilbao.

It's Oliveira's birthday. It's their birthday present

Honestly, today is not a day they can help. The rest of the days and stages are more appropriate for supporting Almeida and they do it.

Only Landa and Gaudu still in the race out of last year's top-ten, and both are non-factors for GC. Very unusual to have zero overlap in the GC riders of back to back editions of a GT.

I'm pretty sure the Giro had very few overlaps in the last few years in back to back editions as well.
I would be surprised if it didn't happen at least twice there.
