it's a 30pt sprint stage only tomorrow, where Mads Pedersen maybe can finish 5th (17pt) or so. So in regards to defending the jersey, going for a 20pt intermediate sprint today absolutely makes sense to me.

I would be surprised if he runs with all 20 points today with the obstacles leading up to.
All in all, a crazy location of a bonus sprint - but it's probably in line with trying to animate an equally crazy Mads.

Frigo is probably the best climber out of the names you've listed, but the main difference is Ayuso riding for Team Ayuso. Tejada for sure won't be able to compete for the win.

Ayuso always been team Ayuso, Maybe he rides in alliance with Pedersen as Lidl will soon be his new employe.

His ego is unfortunately writting checks his skills cant match. Time to face reality and lock in or become the new Evenepoel, a good talent which never could win vs the big boys.

Yeah also surprised they don't at least have someone in the break. Normally they love throwing riders up the road in these kind of stages. Also no reason to save someone because all the following days will be quite easy. Weird.
