Dont know why people are so obsessed with who the strongest is. Dont matter who were strongest, the only thing that matters is who won.

Excellent racing, good to see Henao looking strong again, and Bertie is looking great as well. Should be a fun next two days!

Samu is saying on TV that is an emotive victory and that he droped in Jaizkibel todday, and it was a long time with the team to catch again...

He said he is not thinking on GC, he is happy with this. But of course he will fight.

I remamber Giro 2013 SAMU was only beaten by Wiggins on a MT time trial

Why I like riders like SAMU to win is so many are so quick to write them off ...especially on here where people are always saying retire retire

Well, tbh, his last really good season was 2012. So i can understand people who were writing him off as a consistent top rider.

For sure, in the past years, he had some good results, but not that much. Till 2012, he was a big rider and leader who perfomed well in GT's, classics and stage races. Now not so.

But he looks back to a really good level!

Exactly ...the strongest was the winner and he imo should be in leaders jersey as there was definitely a gap

No, that is not what he said. Sanchez wins, that is what matters in this race right now. But he wasn't the strongest.

When was the last time Samu did a good TT? He will likely be dropped tomorrow, though.
Vuelta a España 2014.

It's not the worst reference, it also had a climb at the start, even if this one is way harder.

Yeah, now I remember, Moncayo wasn't it?

At the Vuelta a Andalucia a few weeks ago he came seventh, 21 seconds behind van Garderen and beat notables like KIRYIENKA, Valverde and Mollema.

Didn't watch that one, though :)

Henao was great today so was Contador for me they was both the two who seemed definitely the strongest.
And where are all the Landa hype ? :D

Yeah what happened with all that Landa hype? Dropped twice. Henao looked Very Good. Contador looked good also, especially on the hardest climb.

Besides the fact he can talk for himself

The stongest is the winner everything else is just talk...only wining matters and not endless posts of a was stronger than B or visa versa ...proves nothing

Look at that! Reichenbach 10th overall! What a performance from the young man. He is a massive engine and is extremely powerful, and he deserves nothing less than coming top 10 in a big stage race like the Tour of the Basque Country. What a rider. What a man!
lol

But it is a indicator of what the GC will look like when its all over and done so wth is it you dont understand really? :p If the purpose for everyone was to win this stage you would see Henao, Contador and Quintana to work together when they caught em dont you think

I know what the purpose of the GC race is ...so no need to be so sarcastic. rude & condescending
My point is all this talk of who the strongest is is pointless...the race wil prove that ...no endless tit for tat posts that prove nothing

The strongest doesn't always win, although it's rare for the strongest not to win a GT. Sure, only winning matters but there is considerable interest in who the strongest is, in part because it's more predictive of who will win the next similar stage/race.

There is only one more mountain Contador needs to survive before he can crush them in the TT, right? It's looking good for him.

Landa said himself that he'd probably crack at some point due to his lack of racing.
