lol

Thats my boys. Unzue knows all the tricks in the books, its no coincidence he has won Grand Boucle 5 times in a row. :D

Probably in those times two guys were needed to push the big one, Unzue forgot that he's dealing with 50 kilos now.

Very true, but its all about those marginal gains, even an old man like Unzue has realised this now. ;)

Re: Re:

So taking risks, without falling, is not part of being a 'great descender'? Apparently this has nothing to do with having a good descending technique. Why do we have to endure reading nonsense?

For reference, here are the descending times of the top 20 on the stage:

Sergio Henao: 11'47
Brambilla +14
Monfort +16
Bilbao +16
Costa +17
Quintana +18
Sanchez +25
Visconti +28
Rodriguez +31
Van den Broeck +34
Vervaeke +35
Contador +36
Spilak +37
Yates +38
Felline +40
Pinot +44
Cataldo +45
Sebastian Henao +58
Lopez +1'04
Rosa +1'05

Before ignorant people comes showing up with stupid comments.

On a wet decent like this which is not very super technical its more about who is willing to take most risks rather than who is the best descender, now you know that too ;)

With the margine Contador had on the climb for him it was about managing the situation. It was for others to take risks. A fall at plus 60 kmh can be season ending.

Where did I say that, please explain that to me, holy moly  It ofc is part of beeing a good descender, but today it was MORE about whos willing to take the most risk downhill since it was wet roads I mean what is it you dont understand?

Yeah. Pulling crazy hard downhill while having an advantage at the top of the climb would've been upper stupid.

Unless you're Il Falco and it's like technically impossible to crash on a descent no matter if it rains or snows.

Super Contador, great Nairito, and props to kamikaze Henao. Of course I'm a bit disappointed  for Pinot, but it's a very good week for him too. It was a superb Vuelta a Pais Vasco.

I thought he would perform a bit better but like you say, he has done well.

I didn't like the push Quintana got though!

Calm down I only meant that with the advantage he had at the top of the climb, as I said, it was just about managing the situation.

Congrats to Contador

Sad for Henao. How many more times can you lose a race in a TT. It began to when he lost La Vuelta a la Juventud to Uran in a TT.

If anything the bike changed hurt Quintana on that technical and rainy TT. Push not enough to compensate IMHO.

Pinot needs to step it up under pressure.

But nobody considers the advantage he gained by having a TT bike. So he lost 5 secs with the change, perhaps though he gained 10 with the bike.

How many of those where due to the push though? They should have a designated spot for that type of switches in a more neutral spot.

It has nothing to do with pressure, but with the fact Contador and Quintana are superior cyclists. He's close to the level of those guys, but not quite there yet.

Kirby is like a waterfall in the Alps with the most beautiful and cold water on the most sunny day of the year, but sometimes it just happens thats some tourists take a piss and it gets ugly. We should appreciate him for what he is.

Kirby for president!!
