Relative to expectations, Remco good but not super elated. Roglic very good and also a little better than expected vs. Remco. Vingo a bit below expectations but not a surprise with the TDF in his legs. Ayuso and Almeida, very good, with Almeida as good as expected and Ayuso better than expected. Sepp Kuss, much better than expected. Soler better than expected. Mas? About as expected.

Chapeau Ganna - powerful win. Almedia and Vlasov did well, Kuss and Soler did a lot better then normal, so now QS has to think of how they can take back a minute on Kuss. Not easy and without thinking of Roglic.

Froome would have finished both Catalunya and Dauphiné in second that year had he not let himself get ambushed, and in any case 2017 Froome was far weaker than 2023 Vingegaard and therefore needed to be far closer to his best to win races. His Vuelta opposition also consisted of a Nibali who was arguably starting to slide by then and little else (Contador was past being a real threat by then), that helped too.

Great win for Ganna. Remco looked a little disappointed. Vingegard about as good as expected after the Tour. Nice ride by Vlasov and also Kuss. Roglic looks well positioned now. That's a pretty amazing looking top 10 as far as a GC talent pool goes.

Yup, just as I expected. Roglic overperformed compared to Remco. Maybe not as much as Seppi, but still good.

Vingegaard a tad disappointing, but also quite another fish than Tour de France stage 16 (2023) quite technical with climbs and which was down at 41km/h (Vingegaard 59kg/174cm)

Evenepoel is a freak of nature, very impressive time trial he can muster, when you have in mind he is only a few kilos heavier than Vingegaard, and a tad shorter at 1.71m, that he is this close to matching the speed-demon Filippo Ganna on a flat power stage like this,.is mind-bending

Yes, it's not the drop off. It's the extent of the drop off. Only 6 weeks ago he performed what some people heralded as the greatest TT ever. Today he was a mere mortal finishing around the same time as Soler and Kuss who both rode the Tour.

Yes, the GC battle is very much up in the air. Remco is in a good position, but so are some others.

Wow, some interesting outcomes out there!

Evenepoel: as expected, the best of the GC guys. It could've been better: despite gaining some seconds (overtaking Landa) he still lost to Ganna and didn't put as much time as he wanted into Rogla and Kuss. Positives: he's #1 from GC guys and put around a minute into Vingegaard and Ayuso.

Roglic: +20'' to Evenepoel today and +27'' in the GC. This was a really good TT by Rogla. He limited his loss to Remco well and put time into the rest of the GC guys. At the finish he looked more skeletal than Skeletor himself! I feel he'll be flying in the mountains later in the race.

Almeida: +34'' to Evenepoel today and +1'07'' in the GC. Good TT as well, overtook his teammate Ayuso in the GC. Fighting for the podium won't be easy though.

Ayuso: +55'' to Evenepoel today and +1'16 in the GC. Average TT by him considering expectations. GC Situation similar to Almeida, he'll need to attack to get the podium. Victory seems far fetched.

Soler: +56'' to Evenepoel today and -43'' in the GC. Very good TT by him! He's been flying under the radar but now it's clear he's a serious podium contender. UAE has lots of options now.

Vingeegaard: +1'02'' to Evenepoel today and +1'13 in the GC. Performance below expectations but not that surprising considering Tour in his legs. He's not in world-beating form but still can be a key helper to Primoz and podium contender as long climbs suit him.

Kuss: +1'13'' to Evenepoel today and -1'09'' in the GC. Awesome by Sepp! I think most people here misjudged their estimations cause Sepp never really had to dig deep in a TT (saving himself for his mountain duties instead). Today he showed what he can do. This is getting interesting: he still has a healthy lead over Remco with only mountains ahead. Now he's a serious victory candidate but we will see how JV will play it out as Primoz is very strong and Vinge is still not out.

Mas: +1'30'' to Evenepoel today and +1'41'' in the GC. He's poor in such TTs so this wasn't bad actually. Podium fight will be an uphill battle for him.

Last but not least: congrats to Ganna! Now he can go home, his job is done.

Like some mentioned, his Tour victories against pog are not comparable to e.g. Froomes against Quintana etc.
Sprinting around the alps for 2 weeks against the maybe-GOAT might well make any double attempt impossible for him (and pogi as well)

Kuss rode the Tour as a domestique. He could switch on and off. As the team leader Vingegaard couldn't do that. Soler has been a surprise so far.
