No I'm super cereal.

The Col de Neverfarkinghappened is a magic climb 63 kms long, av gradient 25% some sections are vertical. Its definitely the hardest climb in the Land of Make Believe.

Armstrong is the only person Man enough to tackle this climb.

Is that the climb upon which it's "widely accepted" that Contador broke the all-time TDF power record? Surely we can all agree on this?

There was the stage when Contador attacked the Schleck brothers and blew up Kloden. Armstrong was back with Wiggins. LA had waited when AC and co first attacked. He stayed with Wiggins and then attacked himself, passing Kloden on the way. I'm sure that was the stage he was refering to.

LA also dropped Kloden and Wiggins on the Mont Ventoux.

Is anyone going to tell him?

Now you claim that it's "widely accepted amongst close watchers of the sport that Contador broke the power record this year" and yet you still don't have any proof of your original claim of this record breaking power output.

Now that you've failed to support your first lie, do you want to try to post some links supporting this new "widely accepted" lie?

You've just picked a bad issue to do it on. It just comes across as bad faith and it shows lack of knowledge. The lie thing is a good thing to go on but you've got to choose your battles wisely.

Okay buddy I'm still waiting on links to prove your claims! I like your tactic here though, it's kind of a McNamara style "declare victory and leave."

WOW there must have been a chick that really looked like Lances mum at the top of that hill. I'm sure we can agree that that is why he was in so much of a hurry. Wiggins only likes British chicks with bad teeth.

So - why the sad face on the podium?

Well communications had broken down with AC completely by that stage. He also obviously wished he could have won again himself - he really hates not being the best.

Surely we can all agree that it's extremely disturbing how this poster likes to pretend to know exactly what his God is thinking? Surely we can all agree that this is celebrity-stalking psycho behavior?

But people are intelligent enough to know that you're not calling for all the other power records to be made completely void because we don't have the powertap info. Just a bad thing to play on.

BikeCentric is saying all of these power estimates are wrong and should never be used again....

Why - did AC not get LAs twitters?

Since you appear to be good at this - do you think he "genuinely" thinks he can win in 2010? Or do you think he knows the odds are stacked against hm?

Sorry, I cannot agree.

What point is the m/hour supposed to reaffirm? That Lance has no chance, because Contador smokes any of LA's historical efforts?

Well people seem to be interested in my view of it. Can't not give it. We're all just giving our opinions at the end of the day. Others in the thread have asserted that Armstrong was experiencing other beliefs.

Nope, I'm still just claiming that you were lying when you claimed that "Contador broke all TDF power records" this year, and you just admitted it.

Well he did a big interview on Eurosport several weeks back. He didn't seem to be that confident about winning to be honest - he said beating Contador would be very hard, but he did seem confident he would be better than this year. He knows anything can happen - nothing is set in stone.

This is getting tedious. Find something better - everyone can see I was not lying and that you are being unreasonable. It's a logical conclusion that you have to dimiss all other power estimates if you dismiss this one.

RadioShack will be going to the Tour with no designated leader like this year with Astana. The main aim will be to sweep the peloton, its all for the team.

This after all is the Bruyneel way, no designated leader and let the road decide. This is the most effective way and anyone who disagrees is just stupid and knows nothing about cycling because Bruyneel is the master tactician with more GTs to his name than anyone else.

Even if one of the guys is leading the race, he will be expected to do domestique work for his lower ranked team-mates to ensure they have a shot at the podium. Just like the marines, nobody will be left behind. The team is more important than individual victory. This method has won Bruyneel 10 Tours so no questions asked.

The other plus is that because RadioShack will have 3 leaders, AC wont know who to follow and lets face it, he will be clueless without Bruyneel guiding him. You think he was stupid this year, wait until next year. If it werent for the Hog, Contador would still not have won a major Tour. I predict a RadioShack podium sweep with Lance winning and helping his team-mates onto the podium.

I believe when Lance won 7 tours it was all for Lance. And when it was 'all for the team' it was really just for Lance once again.

Bruyneel isn't as much of a genius as you make him out to be. There is only so much you can do in a bike race. There isn't some secret plan that no one knows about except for JB, Shack just has the team to back it up with at least 3 contenders for top spots.

To assume that without JB AC wouldn't have one a single major tour is very naive. He is hands down the strongest rider in the peleton. He IS the best climber and the on TT specialist better than him is Cancellara, who isn't a threat. Astana will have a decent team themselves, and will be working 100% for AC.

It wont just be Asatana Shack has to be concerned about. Garmin, the Schelck brothers, and possibly Cadel All believe they can win.

There will be allot of riders in the mix for the top spot. Just because the Shack has JB doesn't mean its the deciding factor on who will win the Tour.

I already stated that VAM is inaccurate just as the author of the article you linked states repeatedly in his own piece. But I'm sure it's tedious to lie repeatedly and be called on it over and over again.

I answered this for you earlier. Stop hijacking the thread with repeated foolishness. Can you actually name the hills and stages? It was stage 17 on the Colombiere where Lance attacked Wiggins...after losing the front group on the previous hill, the col de Romme, because he was an idiot and wasn't paying attention and missed Frank's attack to catch the lead group. If Lance had the power, he'd have gone...he didn't and stuck with Wiggins, who did all the work.

As for the lies...SRM and VAM data and your absurd claim, please pipe down and stop hijacking threads. The title is about Levi and Andreas being stronger than their boss next year, refer back to that or shut it.

I immediately said it was not an absolutely precise business, but using the estimates that were used for all the other power records, this one was the new record. Again I'm surprised you didn't know about it. This is the first time anyone has asked me for a source of called me a liar on this one. Congratulations.

You have been 'hoodwinked' my friend.

PMCG76's post is one of the finest pieces of sarcasm on one of the most amusing threads on this forum in a long time.

I seem to remember Lance sitting on Wiggins' wheel when Contador attacked in the alps. He was the perfect lieutenant keeping watch on the threat. He didn't make a move until he was sure Wiggins couldn't follow his wheel. Then he did the Lance kick and made up time on AC.

He seemed much stronger than some of the idiots on here suggest. He also seemed loyal to me by not following AC's attack and instead watching Wiggins.

Armstrong haters sure have selective memories.

Apparently you tuned into the broadcast a little late then. Lance wasn't playing dutiful lieutenant, he was caught out tactically because of his own error. Andy Schleck had attacked the group of contenders (FS, BW, AC, AK, LA and maybe Nibali (sp)), and only AC responded immediately. Kloden bridged over, but Wiggins, Armstrong and Nibali couldn't match the acceleration and were left behind with Frank. Frank couldn't lead them back to Andy since they needed time into Bradley. Lance tries to force Wiggins to set the pace by slow pedaling. While he's doing this, he's looking at the ground and basically Wiggins almost runs into his wheel. Frank Schleck sees it, and takes off. Lance and Wiggins might as well have been walking up the hill at that point.

Lance actually put in an attack on Wiggins, but couldn't drop him and just settled in behind him and VdV until they both blew up, at which point he jumped away. He gained NO TIME ON AC, but did limit his losses to Kloden.

Get yourself a copy of Versus' coverage of Stage 17. It will confirm everything that I've written above is 100% accurate and free of bias.

Yes this is your interpretation of what happened. The point is, this was the climb the poster was refering to.

I'm not really hijacking the thread - there wouldn't be much of a thread here in the first place if it wasn't for me. I am being asked a lot of questions, it would be rude not answer most of them. Going to eat some chicken now...
