Like I said I did not like him. JV is not staff either. You know on second thought yes HV was the kind of President that may have interfered with staff at their jobs. HV is in the mould of IOC politicos. The darkest people in sport. incredible sense of self importance and intent on getting all the benefits of the position.

Ok I concede, I suppose that there is some level of political interference with certain riders like rasmussen. Just don't see CH getting that much attention without also some solid Physical evidence that he is as dirty as Foxxy professes

UCI just busted the fifth Astana rider. You think there might be some politicking going on behind those scenes?
As far as the physical evidence goes-you continue to ignore what has been discussed before. CH has routinely avoided UCI inspections in California and Bend, probably other places. That's real. Would he do that if he were clean? Former Mercury and Prime Alliance team members have confirmed there were two teams: on the bus and off the bus.
I'm not suggesting the UCI has him on any list. More likely is any team performing due diligence on a high six figure salary would look for and avoid circumstances that would raise their team scrutiny. Look at Astana; that circumstance is going to cost them money in some way. Their sponsors probably don't care but most teams could not say that.

Sorry I should have known this is all part of the Svengali UCI! Of course this is the clinic and conspiracy forum. Of course CH is under suspicion of being old.
Back room deals in dark smoky rooms. indiscreet conversations of a regulatory authority and a Director.

I told you it wouldn't work and despite the concrete evidence posted, you launch a personal attack. Either post evidence that contradicts what was posted or let it be. Posting nonsense doesn't make your opinions more valid.

Horner's been busted down to a manageable level for the UCI. Practically the equivalent of what happened to Mancebo after Puerto. Horner rides, and he's off the WT-level visibility and he's never tested positive. Everybody wins.

Except Foxxy. :D

Oh, I win too. You can´t imagine what a joy it was to not see Horner spoiling last years Vuelta. He goes exactly where he belongs to; to winning (or not; who actually cares outside of US fanboys who never got/learn it: that there is no fairy tales, see Bonds, McGwire, Ben Johnson, LA, MJones, and so on) obscure US races around inner city flats... And if he gets popped by chance; that would be the top of the cream. :)

In the U.S???? No way. He's a winner and winners are permitted to dope.

Thom's certainly not going to sanction him because he's perfectly okay with doping. Steve Johnson would not do a thing either because, well, that would likely end his $300,000+ salary. And that's all that matters.

OK, convinced. The chances are slim. The best chance was when Horner got pulled precaution before La Vuelta, a la LA was back in a 2002 race (?; was writtewn somewhere in the TH book)...

Still: There is the "Landis option". Someone some day talks, and then the card-house breaks. Could be even LA himself who rats Horner. I have nothing against it. :)

Forgot one Carl Lewis there ;)

On similar lines, since I haven't read the lance thread in a while, did it ever come out that lance was the one who stopped Simeoni from being invited to the 09 giro?

There's a high chance he at least had an influence on it, since that Giro and the D&G pink jersey were even designed for Lance in some way, as he originally planned to primary peak for the corsa rosa.

Although, Flaminia never got invited. Also not in the next year, when they had Ricco as team leader. So it (also) may have had some reasons of bad relationship between the managements.

he won't be blowing up any race calendar here in the states, too many crits and not enough mountains to climb for his likes. I would love to know what his cut in salary was, and pray mine never takes such a hit. :D

Horner is generally likeable and, unless Lance himself finds a reason to urinate on the one rider that didn't out him Horner should be fine. As others have pointed out Steve Johnson and Tommy Weasel sure don't have motivation to initiate that kind of headache.

I hope/think you are wrong. Some day, somebody will talk. And then everything of the Horner-lie becomes known. The card-house breaks down. I can wait. I did so in the LA case, so another 10 years is like nothing... :D

The first step is done: He is back to the anonymous race-around-the-houses-US-circuit (where he belongs to) nobody cares about. I love that.

Lance had an empire, he had a team built around him, financial relationships, endorsement deals. Teammates depended on him, staff depended on him, a multi-million $$ charity depended on him. He was a house of cards.

Chris is the opposite of Lance. He's literally a lone wolf. He rides for the best salary he can get. No teammates, directors, mechanics nothing. Nobody seems to know who even coaches him. There is no house, he is just a card.

Lance left a lot of collateral damage. Horner has left none. So I'm not sure who would rat him out. And if he's riding for Airgas, he's not going to turn up positive this year.

Very well said.

Personally, I hope that Chris and his team gains entry into every major U.S. stage race in 2015, and that Horner wins every one of them.

As I've always maintained: If he gets to ride, then he gets to win. :)

Bring it on!

YES!!

Comedy gold awaits when a 40-something Continental pro is beating up on the visiting WT riders and never testing positive. Make it so!!! #LetHornerRide!

IMO, he could have had a second-tier ride if he brought his own sponsor. He just doesn't seem to have a plan off the bike.
