cortico affair before la vuelta. possible bio-pass also. he's tainted our beloved papy :(

... and he might have been named by LA. The blacklisting came about the time RR spread the rumours here. Wasn´t a big deal of disscusion here, but may there is some truth behind it...

Be very surprised to see Horner in any European races this year and would not be surprised if he spends most of 2015 in recuperation after yet another crash.

lol, blacklisted in the US as well?

this is pretty hillarious. Maybe he should try the south american circuit?

Doubt Horner is blacklisted, but no one, apart from Airgas-Safeway, want him around when Rider15 gets pinned on Horner, officially.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Horner told peloton in a phone interview Friday. “I don’t know what the promoters are thinking. They’ve obviously done harm to the race by not bringing me. You left the only current rider with a grand-tour résumé who was going to show up, and I’m a past champion there.”

The Tour of California, which on Friday announced the 18 invited teams, does not publish or make public the specific criteria it uses to decide which teams it invites and which teams it does not invite.

“I figured we were already in,” he said. “Clearly they didn’t have to bring us, because we’re not a WorldTour team or anything like that. We needed the invite and it wasn’t a sure thing, but when you’re putting on one of the biggest races in the US, you’d think you want the biggest US rider to go, so I figured it was a given.

“It was disappointing,” he said. “It’s one of the biggest races in the US and one I’ve won before, so I was ready to go there and I think we could have put on a big show. I don’t think they’ve ever had a domestic team win California, and I think we could have won it. It would have been something special to do it with a purely domestic team.”

Horner spitting chips :D

If Chris wasn't such a nice guy, one conclusion would be the sport does not want him around. But, how can that be? He's a grand tour winner?:p

I have to look this up, but I wonder how many Tour of Cali's Mancebo rode.

Remember this story?

http://www.velonation.com/News/ID/1...d-to-bio-passport-experts-after-May-2009.aspx

?Lance Armstrong?s profile was not flagged as being abnormal by the Athlete Blood Passport software at any time during the period 2008 to 2010. Consequently, it was not submitted to the experts again,? said the governing body in a communication issued today.

Hmm. Good thing the UCI did nothing.

Personally, Chris is a great guy. Very likeable.

Hate is way too strong a word. It's the grin and clean talk that is irksome and more a reflection on the UCI's management of the sport.

True, he is a nice guy. But he was also a prominent supplier of PEDs to US domestic riders.

Sure, protour doping reflects on the UCI. Doping up 20 year old college kids to ride the NRC is a different story.

How much overlap is there between the clinic 12 and the Horner haters 10?

Just including the reference:

So am I supposed to care about 10 guys on the world wide internet that hate me or write something bad?

The club is evidently becoming more exclusive. Either that, or he isn't as important as he thinks he is.

Though to answer your question, to be honest, personally I haven't done much more than occasionally follow this thread. One GT win so late in life is more like a molehill when there are mountains available.

Horner, however, is starting to sound like Gwyneth ("F*ck the Haters") Paltrow. Perhaps he could consider following her lead and consciously uncouple from cycling. Then the number of haters could fall to zero as disinterest wins over.

Dave.

I'd fit into group that thinks he's an affable guy. He's travelling history is what makes his professional protest unacceptable. Not sure if he's even denying it in the most recent interviews. More of "get over it...I'm still better".
