Christina Watches are using some cheap tactics saying on cyclingnews that I have agreed to a deal for @hornerakg. This is false.

We are in talks with multiple teams including those in the World Tour. Christina Watches have made an offer, thats it

Yeah, haha.. You have to admire that, the media exposure they get, compared to the teams budget, is pretty amazing. The fact that it's mostly BS that gets them in the press, is less important I guess.. But would still like to see Horner in Tour of Denmark:p

Well, well, well. To all the people who claimed Horner's agent had nothing to do with botching negotiations for a new contract, I guess Horner did not feel the same way.

Ironic that his new agent is not sanctioned by the UCI - hasn't done the test yet - and is thus working for free.

I'm not sure who to trust. Maybe Christina Watches was stretching the truth with suggestions that it was all about raising the money. On the other hand Camp Horner could be right that they were only approached and never considered signing.

Neither side are that trustworthy in my eyes in this contract soap opera. Soap opera..hmmm. Chris and Christina - The Bald & The Beautiful. :)

So Horner joins Lampre.

Dawg v Horner at the Tour?

American Chris Horner is poised to sign with the Italan Lampre-Merida squad, sources close to the situation have told VeloNews.

The 42-year-old Vuelta a España champion will ride as one of the team’s GC leaders, alongside newly recruited world champion Rui Costa.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a source close to the deal between Horner and Lampre said the contract was “essentially 100-percent done.”

Horner could not immediately be reached for comment.

Team officials in Australia on Friday confirmed that there had been contact between the Italian outfit and Horner.

“When I left Italy, there was nothing confirmed,” Lampre-Merida sport director Bruno Vicino told VeloNews. “I know that there has been some talks with Horner, some negotiating, but as far as I know, there is no official news. There is some interest from the team to sign an American.”

Ah, maybe we can finally get an answer. No need for tailwinds or weight shedding then. Just alien vs alien.

Well he is a co-conspirator so he might still get in trouble.

Porte will smash him at the Giro if he rides.

Fun times ahead! Horner to go full ***!

If the cleans Porte beats the unrepentant co-conspirator, then surely all hell will break loose. Even Walsh is going to have to dig deep to explain that.

At this very moment Walsh is dreaming up a new way to explain the unbelievers like you. I think it involves likening those who cannot accept Sky as clean being similar to Chamberlain appeasing the Nazis.

And Horner will release his passport and SRM files. A cleans Porte won't. Walsh will tell us Horner is the new Barabbas.

Alright! Horner vs. Porte vs. Evans vs. Basso at the Giro.

Let's get it on. Horner will be the first American to win two different GTs.

Fixed for you... unless he re-injures his knee in the giro. But then again, Horner can ride on one knee to crush them all. And we shall not forget, he´s yet another year closer to the peak age. 52 that is...

I think I'm gonna take the "He may be a doper, but at least he's our doper" approach this year as opposed to trying to twist myself like a pretzel into a logic like the "He rides under my flag or at least a flag that has my flag in the corner and rides for a team registered in the country with that flag, and because we have a wicked track program and the other guy won the Atomic Jock Race you can believe they're clean because our people don't dope and they also say they don't dope and so to their Wags so I believe them because all of the things I recited are enough proof and should be for anyone" people do.

I need to simplify my life this year.

If Cadel podiums the Giro (big, BIG if) I will use the same line of fair dinkum, you beaut, lil Aussie battler reasoning. You can't tie a good kangaroo down, sport.

Horner to BMC

Now that Ballan has been suspended and fired from BMC just wondering if there could now be a spot for Horner on BMC. Not sure how the money lines up, but BMC may get Horner really cheap now. Chris has seen he's worth way less than he thought, might be a way for him to get back into the game.
