My irst crit of the year (assuming the weather holds up).

It'll be interesting to see how I go. Have mainly been doing base building, but had a crack up the local climb and was within a few seconds of my best ever time

Did 45 minutes on the trainer yesterday and was coughing up lungs. Felt like s**t. Still 2 feet of snow on the ground and snow forecast all week. Only outside exercise at the moment is skating and XC skiing, but my cold nixed those activities. I'll try another light spin on the bike and settle down and watch the Olympics and some DVDs.

Riding? I wish :) Too much snow for now.

For now I'm settled to hike up and down the 100ft. hills in my neighborhood in 2 feet of snow. While it has no merits for cycling directly.... it's a helluva workout for the lungs and legs.

not sure where manana, but i will bring my camera. i don't like stopping, but for
you guys i might snap some pics.

Nice pics. We're getting the El Nino gift of a week straight with no rain. I usually like to come your way to do my first of the season races but we're staying home this February, March. Real pretty here with snow on all the surrounding mountain ranges .

there is plenty of snow on the San Gabriel mountains and good old Big Bear,
but down here in the flatlands, but for the big rain, it's business as usual.
getting snowed in is cool.(sorry for the pun). had snow in Texas when i was
a kid.

went from San Fernando Valley -> Santa Monica, CA yesterday.

75 degree weather, lot of cyclists out, and a breathtaking view once I got to the beach.

Ride to work, and if the weather is good, then I will ride a further 5km to hilly off-road crit circuit and do a session there.

Finally warmed up! Mid 50's. Musta seen every cyclist and runner in town out at some point.

Went on 2 rides. Got dropped by my 9 year old on the hill behind our house - it's a new road with no houses.

Then I took my bike to his b-ball games and rode while he played. I Am Soooo very out of shape.

On the ride home from work today, I was going through a section of road where there are some road works going on, so it is restricted to one lane traffic in each direction. So I hit the section and with a speed limit of 40km/h, I got into an aero position and rode the whole section (about 2.5km) quicker then the 40 km/h speed zone, and when I left the section and pulled over and sat up as the road resumed back to normal, a motorist who was behind me, pulled up and said "Bro, that was 45km/h you were doing, impressive", and drove off.

I smiled when he said that, considering I had done more then 10 hours work (and quite physically demanding work), hadn't eaten at that point for five hours, and in just in my work clothes, not in my cycling kit.

Which just goes to show the benefits of chewing "Kat"

Lots of sun out today but had to stay in the office - I do plan to get a ride in this evening, probably the 30 mile short loop with a couple of short climbs but I might end up doing the 45 miler with 4 climbs. Riding back in the last ten miles in the dark dodging cars for one more week until the time changes.
