Yesterday I did 100km, I did 37 of the 100km where I met a bunch and we did a loop, riding balls out trying to hold off the fastest group from catching us, we have averaged something like 36.4km/h, and yes, we stopped at red lights etc. After a coffee, I went out with two more people to get some more km.

Today I got 89km, it was a recovery ride with two more people, who I happened to see them out on the road by chance, one of them had a flat, and the other waited. We had a good tailwind on the way back.

Tomorrow? I will more then likely ride out to the annual New Years Day Crit, and watch and take some more photos. It is a hard race, and my form and fitness is not where I would like it to be. The last time I did the race, we had Jono Cantwell and Mathew Hayman there (when Hayman was riding for Rabobank and they just switched to Giant from Colnago).

Well, tomorrow was intended to be a recovery day after today's 80k road race course recon, but since the boss wants to ride on Sunday, I'll be forced to start my SS mtb training for what must be the world's stupidest mtb race, the Karapoti Classic. The usual level of ridiculous conditions is expected. 50kms of one gear and mud. Oh, the inhumanity of it all!

4 hours yesterday. When I left the house it was 38 degrees (F). When I made it back it was 48 degrees.

Oh yeah, the wind was out of the Northwest at about 30 mph. The hardest ride of this off-season so far.

Looks to be a repeat today. Oh boy....

Kinglake via Research and Whittlesea. One of those days where it felt like a constant headwind no matter which way we turned.

I'll do a 35km loop, which consists of 12% hill in there. Then I stop for a coffee, and then do another 40-50km.

I think tomorrow will be a long recovery ride. Today I managed to get 72km in, with a 6.5km climb in there and I managed to set a new p/b up there. My old p/b was 19:52 (anything under 20 minutes is considered a strong ride), and today I did it in 18:23, a full 1:29 off my old time. Average speed was 21.3km/h, which again is quite good. I still can't believe I did such a time considering that I'm not in top form, I'm getting better each day and in a few weeks time I'll be really good, and I reckon I can get it under the 18 minute mark.

If the ridiculous pain in my trapezius that prevents me from sleeping is gone, I'm going to do a 40km ride before work tomorrow morning, and then again on Thursday. I'll try and throw a 7km effort in there with some false flats. In my current condition, I'm happy with doing 7km in 11min or less. It's averaging just over 38km/h, which isn't anything great, but I'm just building up again.

Tomorrow I'll ride to the NoonRide, which takes 55 minutes. The route we'll do is 1 hour and 20 minutes. Then the ride home is another hour. Can never get enough of this.

I'm riding through the Brisbane floods for the next few days. I can't go to work as the CBD is under water. I just need to stay on the high ground and check out the sights, help if I can. I did it yesterday and I think a few people stuck in traffic jams were envious when I peddled past.

Nowhere

(Reuters) - New England battled blizzard conditions on Wednesday with the second major snowstorm of the winter season pummeling parts of the region with nearly two feet of snow by morning commuting time.

Snow fall measurements climbed throughout the day, with parts of Connecticut and western Massachusetts reporting nearly 30 inches of snow by mid-afternoon, according to Weather Channel meteorologists.
