Which Teams for World Tour next year?

I don't think that Cofidis is even intrested in World Tour. As a French team they get selected for Tour de France and as a main sponsor of Vuelta, they also get to compete in there. As for Giro, I don't think Moncoute or Taaramae are interested racing in there (at least I remember Taaramae saying it). Also their roster isn't big enough to feature in all the events in calender.

Movistar signing Visconti has really boosted them.
It's sad to see Skil outside the top 20. They really deserve a place in the World Tour.

I think the trick is to sign some big names from teams ahead of them in the ranking, in direct competition with them for the remaining WT spots, then ranks would swap easily. But I guess it's just a wishful thinking.

Because Greipel had already a lot of points in the Europe Tour. He went from 35th to 15th.
Goss came from the bottom and hadn't score too much in the Europe Tour until then. He entered the top 100 and therefore went from zéro to 2 points.

But the UCI has the final say on the last few teams so they should ride the problem will be 2013 unless they get better results from more riders -but they only have 23 riders next year and point will rest on Sammy shoulders again, with help from Anton and Mikael Snow.

Unless they want to drop down to pro-Conti which is the correct move for them imo, but your man might leave and be a massive signing for 1 team and be good for his bank account

This might sound a little daft and I'm not sure that it's particularly feasible to keep the information secret (especially with high profile riders) but wouldn't it be better for any team that thinks it's in and around the cut off point of 15th place to not actually announce any or most of their signings before the deadline? (ie: Send the names of the top 15 riders to the UCI with the license application just before the deadline elapses).

From a cyclingnews article:

Lavenu currently spends great amounts of time assessing his team points with a new software especially designed for the job. Comparing his outfit to other World Tour teams and taking into account the latest transfers, the Frenchman believes that AG2R sits between 15th and 20th place in the UCI ranking and therefore has no guarantees to remain in the World Tour

So if I'm Gianetti at Geox, for example, I don't want Lavenu to know that I've signed Robert Vrecer (60 points) because he can then put that into his fancy new software and potentially go back into the market to search for more points (make additional signings). With this in mind I suspect there might be quite a number of signings we don't hear about until after the deadline has elapsed.

Why would they really deserve it?

They keep proving that, without Kittel, they don't amount to anything and are a worthless addition to the World Tour, the Tour de France of 2009 was downright embarrassing.

Skil is Kittel, Degenkolb and then nothing. Okay, perhaps Veelers is okay as a leadout for Kittel.
