Lets hope Samu's injuries are not Tour threatening :(

Seems like broken ribs..

Dont know if that will keep him out till the tour, yet it will certainly have a very detrimental effect on his preparation.

Evans showed some great form, Sanchez maybe out with broken ribs, interesting how much one day in a prep race can change things.

I am looking forward to Liquigas (Nibali) and Astana (Kash) to put pressure on BMC and Sky, as liqui and Astana will feel teh need to attack and not ride formulaic races.

Contrary to Liquis performance in the Giro, they will not feel the need to control the race so their diesel doesnt get attacked. We could also see a Liqui + Astana alignment as Vino tries to seal the Nibali transfer.

Good stuff.

Astana also technically have Brakjkovic, but his form is always doubtful.

Kash shows form on a cat 3 climb, yup I'm convinced he's a genuine gc shot.
He didn't even show it on the actual climb ;)

I doubt anyone really thinks he's a contender, he's just a cult hero from *cough* another age.

Well with the normal caveats that anything can happen etc, imo the TdF is Evans' to lose. He can basically match Wiggins in the TTs, is a better (or at least more consistent) climber, has a stronger all-around team, and as defending champ, has the confidence that comes with knowing he can win it.

He does not have a better team. Even with cav there.
Bmc is still pretty weak in the climbing department.

And wiggo is the better ttr in my opinion. But still, I think if Evans is in form he is a far better all round rider to lose to wiggo.

Evans and Wiggins are rather close; I'll say Evans will gain a little bit of time in the mountains, Wiggins will take back a little bit in the TT's. I optimistically think this will be a Tour of surprises in the stages you'd not expect to be big for GC. It's a battle for Bike Racers, and both Evans and Wiggins are that. I'd have Samu up there too, but for today :( ...

Starting to get used to seeing Wiggo in yellow. He's looking good! I wonder if the 21 people who voted for Andy Schleck to win the Tour are having second thoughts.

I always have second (and third, and fourth) thoughts when I vote Andy in these polls. But for some reason I always vote Andy!

"Perhaps " ?

What's wrong with 'perhaps'? Certainly possible to ride the Tour, it's still four weeks. If it heals quickly, he could even start in pretty decent shape.

You're right he might be able to finish 137th.
