I would put my money on Samuel Sanchez, he seems to be riding well. He is the underdog in this race though. But in my oppinion it will be between. Gilbert, Vanendert and Sanchez.

Sanchez LBL

2011 10th
2010 DNS
2009 10th
2008 DNS
2007 12th
2006 15th
2005 83th
2004 4th
2003 6th

Actually these results, especially the recent ones, show he just doesn't really like this race a lot, I'm afraid. In 2006, 2009 and 2011 he did great in the Flèche, but underperformed in LBL. Now he's forced to ride it by the team because Anton lacks form, he's claiming he has been sick, etc. Frankly, I can't see him competing for the win. And this is coming from a Samu fan, mind you.

I'm going with Cunego.

Going with Nibali. He's going to want to test his legs, and can risk it all with the world tour points in the bank for the team with Sagan.

No one wins L-B-L by merely "testing his legs", I'm afraid. Moreover, all the teams of the big favorites will have enough World Tour points come the end of the year, the riders don't care about that kind of things at this point of the season.

Nibali's definitely a dangerous outsider, but honestly, I can't see him winning.

Thirdly, I think it is reasonable to include Mollema and Nibali as favourites for Liege, greater than Samu.

Thats not what you posted.

Had you said that you think it is reasonable to have Mollema and Nibali as bigger favourites than Sanchez my response would not have been so condescending.

But that is not what you said.

You said that only a fanboy could believe the contrary - that Sanchez has a better chance than Nibali and Mollema.

I dont care how long you have been watching cycling, to say that one cannot be objective if they say that the olympic champion and 2 time lombardia podium finisher has a better chance than 2 guys who have never podumed a monument, betrays a pretty serious lack of either knowledge or judgment.

To be honest its a waste of time arguing with you until you feel a bit better, your posting has been way off these last few days.

Observe

I openly admit you are a fanboy.

You have no right to "admit" anything in my name.

Maybe idiotic sentences like this are the reason why your posts get met with condescension

When they stop i will explain to you why fans who like 200 riders and admit they have faults, cannot be placed in the same league as someone who goes beserk everytime their favourite rider gets called "cuddles".

hitch's hormones blinding him completely

Milan-San Remo 2012 results
1. Simon GERRANS, GreenEdge, in 6:59:24
2. Fabian CANCELLARA, RadioShack-Nissan, at 0
3. Vincenzo NIBALI, Liquigas-Cannondale, at 0

gotta love when hitch starts attacking like a self righteous **** only to make a fool out of himself.

hitch i love samu but he hasn't really performed in LBL in a long time and that's a fact. yes i think he is one of the favorites but at the same level as nibali, and yes he is ahead of mollema

My bad. Nibali has indeed podiumed a monument. Apologies.

Arent you doing that yourself right there.

Rather than make the correction, coming out and calling me "sellf righteous" "blinded by hormones" a "****" for forgetting that Nibali has podiumed a monument.

I never started any attacks, but you just did.

By the same logic Gerrans should be an even bigger favourite for LBL. And he's not.

Samu is simply a far better one day rider than Nibali. And I would argue he's a better rider overall as well, but that's a different story.

i wasn't paying much attention when i was writing as i am watching football.

i meant "acting", and i was just poking you for the lulz but you clearly lose all your sense of humor when it comes to discussing samu. . .

Your sense of humor seems to be a lot like Ryo Hazuki's.

You throw lots of insults at someone, then when they fail to smile, you protest that they don't have a sense of humor.

To be honest i dont quite see the joke in calling someone a c**t. I mean im looking at it from different angles but cant quite figure it out.

i didn't call you a c**t, it was supposed to be c**k which is much friendlier ;)

but i guess each to it's own.

please proceed with your crusade supporting the incomparable samu that is the absolute favorite despite not being relevant to the outcome of this race since 2004, i will make sure not to disturb you nor disagree with you.

I don't really see what podiuming MSR has to do with LBL. This is almost as if you are just replying to spot a grammar mistake or something.

Although apart from that I do place S. Sanchez slightly higher than Nibali, if only because he's a better sprinter.

I never said Samu was the absolute favourite. I never even said he was the favourite. in fact i specifically said multiple times that Gilbert is the favourite.

The Hitch said:
Personally i would have Samu 3rd or 4th behind Gilbert - huge favourite, and maybe Vandendert or Cunego.

Care to retract your comments now that they have proven to be incompatible with the evidence?

Rinaldo Nocentini to secure the first Ag2r win of the season by beating Dani Moreno and Robert Kiserlovski in the sprint. The trio will take advantage of the lack of an obvious favorite and sneak away in the final.
