Allthough I really like Valverde and enjoy his all year round great performances I can not forget what he did to purito 2 years ago.

I've never really understood this line of thinking. If you choose to assume Valverde had been strong enough to go after Costa, then he would have been the likely winner, not Purito, so he really only "did" anything to himself (or Spain if you want to look at it that way), not Purito.

There are plenty others I'd be happy with but I guess I'd be most thrilled to see GVA, Valverde, Terpstra, or Uran win - all riders I like who have good one day race pedigrees and who haven't worn the rainbow stripes.

I'd really rather not see Degenkolb, Kristoff, Kwia, or Gilbert.
Why would anyone want this????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh, because I'm a fan of Terpstra

PURITO,

Stybar, Sagan

Didn't know you liked wheelsuckers that much.

Anyways Piti, his agressive style this year was something else, he was great in catalunya. Even in the tour he was somewhat agressive, not much but it's something for piti.

If he wins it, his season will also be recorded as one of the all time great in the last 20 years.

Sagan and Boonen can also win :)

Don't worry, he won't

I want a rider who's good all year, in classics, stage races and GT's. Bring it on Purito!

Cmon, Angliru. You have to know Arredondo's Bala/Purito syndrome by now. :p

If Bala would be in super shape, he's the ideal candidate.

But in his current form, he won't be it. So actually this has nothing to do with a syndrome ;)

Re: Who would you like to see in the rainbow jersey on Sunda

1-Valverde
2-Nibali
3-Purito
4-Taylor Phinney

The ones I don't want to see win: anyone who is primarily a sprinter, almost never wins unless it is a field or reduced sprint. Kristoff, Matthews, Gerrans, Greipel, etc.
EDIT: Oh and Sagan, just because I don't like him!

It would be an inspiration for dimwitted jerks with zero tactical nous all around the world?

Well, if he wins he'll certainly disprove your statement (which he already has, btw).

He obviously just messed up. Got surprised by Costa's attack.

Perhaps, but my bitterness doesn't erase his comments about Santambrogio, for example.

It's not just in response to your Terpstra comment, but pretty much every comment you do these days is soooo negative. I don't recall you were always like that.

What did he say about Santambroggio btw?

I think it's unlikely but I'd like to see either take it. Despite your thoughts on Valverde's current form he has a much better chance than Purito, imo.

It's more a dream. I don't believe he will win, or even tries.

But if he's motivated, i think he can surprise on this parcours. And then he's got a bigger chance then Bala, because the latter one is still a favorite (and people will react if he attacks).

I'd love to see Taylor Phinney cap off an amazing comeback from injury with a win, but even a medal would be nice. It's a tall order and I don't really think it's going to happen so instead Sagan or Valverde would be a fair trade-off to me. I don't even care if either of those two win that much, I just don't want Degankolb or Kristoff to take it.
