ABV (anyone but valverde)
but why?

Because there are cycling fans who don't like him as a rider. Or because he screwed the chances of the Spanish squad in the past.

Not my arguments, only possible arguments. But come on, every big rider has fans and no-fans. That's the real world.

Im also stunned, everyone should loooooove Valverde!

.. and thats obviously the dude I want to win most badly. I really have no clue who I will be cheering for outside him, I think something vague as a good race. Boonen wouldnt be bad either, always had an affinity for him.

Anyone who would be a real surprise.

Preferably someone who will be riding Cannondale for 2016.

Breschel! :D

Though I guess it wouldn't be that much of a surprise...

Štybar typically races very negatively on the road.

In cyclocross, it's crazy, he always attacks from the start.

But he should be more agressive especially if you look what team he's in.

ah, well many more people deserve much more sympathy than just another doper who perhaps regretted popping the needle in the vein.

I rather want to see people speaking their mind than getting the discussion drowned in pc.

Go Terpstra.....
Good on him for speaking his mind, but he's a complete loser for having that on his mind at all. Someone is hinting at committing suicide and your first thought is "oh he's just begging for attention"?? That screams "douche" to me. Very few people deserve to die and doped up sports(wo)men are not among them. That was a cry for help. Thankfully some people like Alessandra De Stefano answered.

With the benefit of later events it can now be obviously viewed as an attempt to gain sympathy.

But somehow people still think that Terpstra was the bad guy in that episode and nobody is demanding that Santambrogio apologized for his theatrics.
Someone who was battling depression and toying with the idea of suicide (people who knew Santambrogio in person took it seriously enough to check on him urgently) seeks attention at a low point. How is that in any way strange, or reprehensible? His cry for attention, if that's what it was, was also a symptom of a serious problem. Terpstra was very much the bad guy here.

Given that he managed to test positive again barely a year later, the psychological consequences of being caught weren't/aren't apparently that bad.

A symptom of a serious problem is that the guy continued to dope after playing people for idiots.

Another symptom of a serious problem is that nobody to my knowledge called out Santambrogio on his theatrics after his second positive.

Terpstra was insensitive but subsequent events showed that he wasn't wrong.

I disagree entirely with everything you said in that post and I'll leave it at that.

Degenkolb ok,but Stybar

I like world champions who have won a lot already and/or are one of the best within their specialisation. In terms of wins, Stybar has the same number as Chris Sutton, his Strade Bianche was nice but his Tour and Vuelta wins were fairly ordinary, and his 2nd in Paris-Roubaix was obviously a benchmark result but it was the least selective edition since 1997. Not a world class palmares so far, and some way behind Terpstra, for instance.

He could still be a good domestique for his teammate Kleber Ramos...

Someone whose trade team colours don't clash with the rainbow jersey.
And please, for love of everything holy, not Gerrans.

^Whoever gets it should just wear black shorts and a white jersey with the rainbow stripes around.
Doesn't UCI has some kinda of rule that the team of the World Champ can't go all "Movistar" on the jersey but have to make the jersey white?
With the stripes, of course.

Can't think of a trade team-coloured rainbow jersey, ever.

Bib shorts either have to be white to match jersey or the regular team shorts. It isn't really a matter of choice.
