Regardless, I think smoking anything is pretty disrespectful for the sport, and makes you think, if you really are into gaining every marginal advantage, would you afford to smoke?
It's actually fairly common for top sportsmen and women to be closet smokers. In woman's tennis there are quite a lot including Maurismo, Graf, Capriatti and Hingis to name just a few. Tim Henman smoked through most of his career and David Ferrer is still a pack a day smoker. In swimming Dawn Fraser and Van Alsmick, in cricket, Botham, Warne and Flintoff.
A mate of mine had a half marathon PB of 64 minutes and smoked about 15 a day!
