Don't need Stella to complain about them, believe me.

And Stella is so 1990s anyway, which is about the last time I touched the filth

[edit] present company excepted, Sir Ferminal ;)

Nice sleight of hand attempt there but I think wiggos behaviour over the last year puts to bed the idea that he is some grandmaster at pschychological games who carefully plans everything he says for a purpose.

He has succeeded to wind himself up far more than anyone else, and his bizzar mind change from saying he was gonna let froome lead the tour to saying he was gonna go for it himself, only resulted in Bailsford coming out and saying froome was the leader, and wiggins coming out looking like a muppet.
looking like?

muppet is. not looking like. is muppet

Imagine this : a goatee bearded mechanic , working with grey shoes , tape measure and tools , beside the Sky Team Pullman in the Partenza parking area , the Friday that Adam Hansen won the stage . With minutes left before the sign on he is trying to get the setup , perfect , for an irritable " superstar cyclist "! Obviously , said superstar had a ride around the car park and decided that the pedals were not acting in the way that he would prefer ? The photos certainly tell ther story .

Normally i see the mechanics working at the end of the day at the hotel , but earlier in the week i had seen Taylor P. exercising his need for bike adjustments , as the departure minutes ticked away .

Brad needs to do a few short tours , where he can win easily , to rebuild his confidence in his abilities . Currently he " descends like a girl " and wants to get back to emulating Salvodelli or even Nibs ?

His numbers are good.

His numbers may be good but Ferrari thinks Wiggo's build is **** :D

"Not only respiratory diseases but also muscle fatigue, tendinitis and digestive problems assaulted the more fragile athletes in the peloton.
Cyclists, in addition to food, ingest water and mud from the pavement, which often contains parasites: worm and protozoa infection are definitely not uncommon, draining the energies well beyond the physiological fatigue of a stage race.

And it is riders such as Wiggins and Hesjedal, along with Froome and Gesink, the prototypes of the latest generation of riders whose fragility I had already pointed out (see comment for the TdF of 07/24/12), that are the first to pay the price for such weather conditions, inevitably having to quit the Giro .
Physically very tall and perhaps too thin, they are more exposed to wind and cold compared to more compact and less taut athletes.

But if so much rain is unusual in Italy in the month of May, unforeseen external factors are always to take into account in road cycling, especially when dealing with a competition that lasts more than three weeks on an extremely diverse course, always full of pitfalls."

Can't disagree with him on that.

Ferrari is always right.

Point being he was always one for leaving 1-2% for the start of a GT to burn through in 3 weeks.

In saying that these guys are injecting something which doesn't give them control of fat v muscle.

Idiots. They should listen to Ferrari more.

Wiggins is clean. He's also not fully fit, out of form and not as robust mentally as he might be. A fairly human sort of cyclist. Good that he won last year, the stars lined up pretty nicely for him in rare fashion.

Wiggins is not clean.

Amazing Sir Wiggo hasn't caught the Bilharzia parasite yet. Maybe another training camp in Kenia might do the job in preparation for the Vuelta.

I used the same water bottle without washing it for about 3 years now!

I should have caught a parasite!

According to Darryl's recent post Wiggo trained with a faulty power meter, numbers looking great all throughout winter but numbers possibly reading too high throughout. Maybe just under prepared...

Hog there is still hope for your fledging pro career.

Novo, a Danish based pharma major, is advertising - on this very site - for their junoir development squad. For young riders with diabetes. To be groomed into future tour winners. Presumably with or without current TUE. All can be arranged. And if not with TUE there's always the research program looking for volunteers.

I got caught with that too. It was actually a repost of a parody post from another forum, originally posted as a joke on said other forum by Retro Trevor or someone. Lack of context combined with the user posting lead me to accept it as factual; it's not. It's parody / an attempt at humour.

Caught me for about a minute, but it was brilliantly done and I thought worthy of somehow referring back to. wonder who came up with it, seemed too good for anyone unless very close to the scene.

Damage control, Sir's dont work for Kenyan peasants.

So, Twiggo abandons the Giro on the seventeenth of may, due to 'a chest infection and a minor tendonitis':

So, either the Sky medical team are total flukes; tendonitis needs
a rest or
b anti - inflammatories or
c cortisone injections or now for the funny part
d swimming

I thought they had a swimming coach at Sky?

So, how bad was his knee actually?

I sense the need for a doc who specializes in chest infections and tendonitis.

I think Geert Lienders is available.

That would make more sense if Wiggins had won narrowly rather than an Armstrong-esque domination.

Anyway, in my poorly informed opinion, he just doesn't seem happy. He's met his goal of providing well financially for his family, and no longer needs to have a career with all the stress it brings. If he's on the sauce, that must make it even harder psychologically, especially considering his outburst last year. Expectations are so high on him now. Wouldn't be suprised if he retires this year.
