No matter how Wiggins had performed in the Giro, in forum eyes he would anyways have been wrong. If Wiggins had smashed the Giro, it would entail another boost in the clinics; if he would have won with a small margin, it would have handled very critically too. Wiggins loses the Giro, but for many people he is wrong even when he loses. To be sure! This rider is not entitled to say he would try to do the Giro-Tour double, because in CN mega experts opinion, he is not legitimate GC man. The last one is rationally explained in no way, but that's the case.

I don't consider Wiggins arrogant whatsoever. Rather he is just not very social man who got used to the only thing he can do properly - to the job. He doesn't like people too much generally, because he dislikes ill-wishers like many of you. And I understand him very well.

Remove the 3 TTs from 2012 TDF and Wiggins still wins....

Only on paper. If you had taken the time trials out then Nibali could have attacked much later in the stages rather than wasting energy with fruitless long range attacks. No way would Wiggins have beaten Nibali under such circumstances.

I'd absolutely LOVE to see all the people on here criticising Wiggins ride a GT. How many of you could come 4th in the Giro? Alright, you may not like him and I know he is pro, but surely give him a BIT of credit? You definitely can't knock the effort yesterday. His Giro is over, time to move on.......dogs with bones.

Exactly, remove the ITTs and you got a completely different outcome. Maybe Froome would have been the knight. :D

Didn't Wiggo drop Nibali too on some stages?

no it doesn't ugh. I wish I could violate the tos here for expressing how incredible stupid the things are I read. pls count to me how many flat itt kilometers are in the giro from now on

huh? What does that have to do with anything xD

I thought we were talking about how Wiggins (TT being his strength) could only hope to win a stage race with a Time Trial in it. That does not mean he is supposed to win every single stage race with a TT in it.

its amazing how u guys can work out a persons character and hidden motivations from one little quote. you should be working for the secret services or something

To be fair, Wiggo has a long history of quotes of which to develop a sense of character. :D

Nope.

Just the races in which he was better prepared.

I think you are forgetting the main point here. Rain and downhill combination make Wiggins descend the GC:rolleyes:. There was no such thing at the TDF.

Fair enough, state that you are ill. But two things strike being as being a little off. Firstly, was it he or Brailsford who jumped down a journos throat for asking if Wiggo had the same illness as Cataldo a few days ago? Secondly, he hasn't just stated he is ill, the valedictory sentence regarding the Tour de Picardie implies that the illness is the sole reason, or certainly chief reason, for his time loss. The arrogance of the man is starting to P me off again.

Wiggins is ill just like anyone who live on earth. That's probably the reason of lack cluster result so far. Someone's articles suggested last year when wiggins came in to TDF with super skinny body after loosing weight, that he might be in trouble when the weather got cold or rain. Last year it didn't happen at the TDF. Or maybe it did, but he was masked by his team strength, who knows.

Well maybe because he is too skinny now, he is prone to get sick when weather is so faulty like the first week. Sky has been spending so much time in sunny tenerife and comes giro the weather so far has been hot and cold, rain a lot. It probably took a toll on his skinny body. Nibali and Evan should be careful not to get sick. I suspect hesjedal is hit with the same problem, he just probably doesn't realize it.

For someone sick, wiggins is not bad to loose only 2 minutes. But I think he did great in managing his health problem and just loosing 2 minutes. Eventually when you sick you'll come out of it. So, he'll be dangerous in the last week, if he gets healthy in time. **disclaimer I'm no wiggins supporter either and maybe more in the side of don't like wiggin that much**
