'Master of none' lol. He's only the best bike handler in the peleton

So how does Chris Froome, a guy who's mentioned so many times on this forum for his terrible bike handling skills win races?

Jack of all trades and master of none, meant that he's not the fastest sprinter, best climber, best Classics rider, etc. Hope that clarifies things.

Er.... You might as well say 'how does Kittel win races when he cant climb?'

And if being 'master' means best then Wiggins is master of nothing coz (at the moment) Martin is the best TTer

The same way that even though Kittel is a horrible climber, he still wins a lot of races. You don't have to be good at everything to win races.

Can climb, do long TTs, prologues, win 1 week races, 3 week races, lead out, ride cobbles. I'm not sure there's even another rider in the peloton with such a wide skill set at such an elite level.
I agree, my friend, and after a few tasty tulips of Cristal,
Mr. Oleg Tinkov is not afraid to admit that he does too.

More chance that Wiggo will get wind of a post here than elsewhere - but - Sir Wiggo - DON'T SIGN WITH SKY again! Wtf are you doing to yourself man? Is it because you want to just do track and nobody else will make that happen? That is the ONLY reason I can think of, because otherwise, it sure looks like they are screwing you over.

Who's a better descender than him?

Whoa whoa, wait a sec. Isn't this a WIGGINS discussion thread? Now, Sagan is one of the premier descenders. Top ten quality there, for sure. Wiggo? Hmmmm - maybe half the peloton descend better? Maybe 2/3? I wouldn't put him at the bottom. Yet.

Classy, classy win. Congratulations to the new World Time Trial Champ.

Should give the middle finger and quit road. That or appear only for time trials, beat Tony Martin, and then leave. I'd pay for a troll this big.

No, he must complete his 'job' by winning PR next year:)

'wide skill set' lol. he can put out 400w for a long time. that is his skill. nothing else. which is not to say it isnt a good skill, and its certainly one more high-level skill than most riders have. in many ways he's like a tennis player with a big serve and not a lot else. the Roddick of cycling lol

Sagan is a bike rider. Wiggins is a diesel engine on 2 wheels. i like the guy, but he is what he is

Cycling and Tennis are not remotely comparable, and you clearly know nothing about tennis

Exactly and unless it's raining he will be in the top10 again and I think he will be more aggresive this time. He knows he has it in him.
The guy has a record of succeeding at the goals he sets himself.

I was far from a fan of him and I'm still not a fan, but a lot of respect to the guy. He has a huge engine and is crazy talented obviously.

Also liked some of his words. Saying Valverde is good from January on and is one of the current day legends of cycling. Also he knows so much about cycling and obviously dearly loves the sport.

Congrats to Sir Wiggo, a strong response after being sidelined for most of the season.

And I agree with Arredondo, PR is next on the program.

Such a unique rider. There may be better riders than Bradley Wiggins, but there are definitely no riders like him.

I can't imagine anyone else win a gold medal on track and finish 4th in the Tour in less than one year, or anyone who could win and Olympic title on track and win the TdF in his career. And the man also won an Olympic gold in the TT, a WC TT, a handful of various one-week races, he even finished with the best riders in Paris-Roubaix. By far the most versatile rider I have ever seen (admittedly, not many, since I started watching in the late 90s, but still :D ).

Hopefully he will keep on targeting Paris-Roubaix and the hour record.

Tour De France, TT world champ, Paris-Nice, Dauphine, Romandie, very successful track career, hopefully the hour record and Paris-Roubaix.... It's like the palmares from one of the greats of a few decades ago.

I've already lost my dislike for Wiggins some time ago, but I'm even slowly starting to like him.

What prompted Valverde being mentioned?
