I did not want to imply I was wishing for him to crash. I don't like that he's only gonna go to the Giro to pick up an easy tt win. I never liked his riding style, I never liked his persona, I think the Hitch is really spot on with his comment. I think he's a grade A cycling ******bag. That's why I don't want him to be succesful in winning the tt.

I suppose one day all you young fellows will grow out of calling people names and accept people as they are.

You might also allow that they aren't necessarily how you think they are, but that even if you are right it only makes you look bad to voice such opinions.

It's not just you mate. You are just the latest to hop on the bandwagon. The whole lot of you should grow up and find a civilised way to comment. The asterisks don't help the slightest bit.

I am so glad I have had the opportunity of saying so.

It's about as infantile as running about in the road beside professional cyclists on mountain climbs, in my opinion.

I actually misread your comment which clearly stated fail and not fall, which is what my mind told me was there

Tony Martin and Fabian Cancellara have also abandoned GTs after the ITT, but no one seem to criticize them for that.

As long as the team is happy with that, I don't see a problem. No ITT win is ever easy anyway, the riders still have to get past the first couple of weeks and to ride hard to win it, so if they get there and win it they fully deserve it.

Those guys haven't won grand tours though. A little different.

Wiggins seems to have turned into a rich mans David Millar. After being the 2nd best climber in the world 2 years ago.

They are specialists. Tony in ITT and Fabu in cobbled classics and ITT. Wiggo is a TdF winner!!!! With that comes greater expectations.

Personally I'm fine with him quitting after the ITT as long as Porte can manage with one big engine gone from the team. Especially if he has podiumed in PR.

I really hope Porte doesn't get leadership, he'll never win a GT.

I still think Wiggins will go for the win if he's entering.

And what happens if he ends up in the Maglia Rosa after stage 14, does he quit, not likely.

Porte won't be at the Giro, Konig should lead Sky there. Sky will probably give Konig a couple of doms and Wiggo and the rest will form Viviani's train.

I can't see two new guys leapfrogging existing riders chances of going for GC, could be wrong though.

Not sure who else would go for GC though if Porte doesn't, and I'm pretty sure Porte will be helping Froome in July. Possibly Henao but other than that Konig has shown he can be very competitive.

There are many reasons why Wiggo won't go for GC: He's too heavy right now, he is training for Roubaix, he has said he doesn't want to make the sacrifices necessary to winning a gt, he would be using the Giro to get ready for the hour record, ect. There's probably other reason. Of course the biggest problem he would have is Contador.

Yes I agree, I'm sure I read somewhere that Porte's aim this year is to get back into 2013 shape where he was one of the best climbers in that Tour, I'm sure he will want to help his good mate Froome.

As for Wiggins I just can't see him going from trying to win Roubaix into GC shape in just a month. I think he will work for the leader (hopefully Konig) and Viviani in the sprints, then perhaps pull out after the TT.

You must have missed nibali schooling all of them in the tour 2014. And before you bring up the argument that they weren't in top shap and roubaix route is way harder than that stage, nibali wasn't even preparing for that race.

With more prepartion and weight he could easily do it too.

Stybar became WC in cyclocross and also prominently featured in the finale of PR. In a time span of just over three months.

That's on a different scale, Cyclocross is small and the competition was what? It was terrible, doesn't mean much at all.

I'm talking about success across multiple disciplines - Road, Track, TT in Worlds, Olympic, World Cup & Pro Tour events. Nibali shows no such diversity.
