One has to ask. Would it be wise to make him a leader in a GT again now that he's been exposed so much? Sky are obviously a hugely meticulous team so having a rider who clearly cannot ride in certain conditions as their leader seems impractical.

Maybe I'm cynical, but I think he might have been looking for an exit if he'd lost time today.

Then he's be on at Brailsford to make him leader for the Tour. Froome better watch his back.

Today he certainly rode like someone looking for the exit. So easy for him to quit due to "illness" and then badger Brailsford for the Tour leadership (or joint leadership) on the basis that (a) he never rode the whole Giro, and (b) he was "denied" the opportunity to compete for a big stage race due to this mystery illness that prevents him from descending.

maybe there should be another thread and poll for:
WIGGINS: TO DNF OR NOT TO DNF. that is the question. :D:D

if DNF, then in what stage?
if not, when will he crash his contender and gain his whatever time loss he got?

So? Doesn't matter if he rides in support for Uran.

He would be more valuable being fit for the Tour and helping Froome. I can't see him keeping up in the mountains on the weekend.

And what? All who predicted Wiggins would win are stupid or what? I bet you said the same about the Tour many times.
I feel for you, not like Chaka Kahn though.

Wiggins seems to be a good weather rider. We'll see him in the Tour.

I did not seem him today but no difficult with the riders all wearing jackets. Did not see him in the Wiggins group either. Maybe a mistake in the results ?

There was a Movistar guy in trouble. Couldn't make out who he was. Commentators said It was Lastras.

Watching Wiggins makes me respect Lance. Lance would never give in like this. Ever.

Wiggins is the softest GT winner since 1904.

Brad Wiggins? More like Brad Wiggums.

Evans got his *** handed to him in the our 2009 and 2010, came back 2011 and won it.

If Wiggins will always be vulnerable in wet conditions remains to be seen.

The Wiggins fanboys will try to discredit Nibble's win.

Wiggins is not sick. The truth is he's a soft ***** coward with very poor bike handling and descending skills.

This sickness is just a made up excuse to quit the Giro and escape the even greater humiliation he will get.

I want to see him continue in the Giro because I want to see him get even more humiliated.

The truth in fact is his knee is wrecked and giving him problems.

No point people suggesting he should pack and go for the Tour as Sky 100% behind Froome for that gig

They'll have to continue to make donations to ASO and hope that there is no rain.

For the Vuelta, he'll have to obtain Spanish Citizenship.

It seems that illness is selective. Only a good excuse for the fans favourites.

DNS is normally "did not start", but not that you mention it, "Did Not Survive" seems even more appropriate:D

I recall a Paris-Nice where Armstrong pulled out after a couple of stages because it was too cold for him.
