One has to ask. Would it be wise to make him a leader in a GT again now that he's been exposed so much? Sky are obviously a hugely meticulous team so having a rider who clearly cannot ride in certain conditions as their leader seems impractical.

Maybe I'm cynical, but I think he might have been looking for an exit if he'd lost time today.

Then he's be on at Brailsford to make him leader for the Tour. Froome better watch his back.

Today he certainly rode like someone looking for the exit. So easy for him to quit due to "illness" and then badger Brailsford for the Tour leadership (or joint leadership) on the basis that (a) he never rode the whole Giro, and (b) he was "denied" the opportunity to compete for a big stage race due to this mystery illness that prevents him from descending.

if DNF, then in what stage?
if not, when will he crash his contender and gain his whatever time loss he got?

He would be more valuable being fit for the Tour and helping Froome. I can't see him keeping up in the mountains on the weekend.

Evans got his *** handed to him in the our 2009 and 2010, came back 2011 and won it.

If Wiggins will always be vulnerable in wet conditions remains to be seen.
