That isn't true. He was the strongest climber in most of those races he won and if not, top 2.

I disagree with Sir Wiggins, the only rider in the front group with the legs to win was Degenkolb, especially if the group would have stayed together. No one was going to beat him in a sprint and, from the looks of it, no one was able to drop him, most weren't even able to follow him when he countered and caught the lead group. So, no, it could not have been any of them or, better, the probabilities of anyone beating Degenkolb were slim.

This receint loss at PR just meant he wasn't doped to the eye balls.

It doesn't mean that at all. I'd say more but this isn't the place. That talk is only for the clinic.

Aye, it's been veering towards the clinic for a while now. Resist good people. The clinic is always open. Seriously, it just gets very messy otherwise.

No, it is true. I noted that it was all I can remember of those races.

Wiggins can consider himself a touch unlucky that TT kilometres have been cut out of many recent GTs. Back in the 80s and 90s there was much more TTing in these races. Miguel Indurain and Greg LeMond don't get bashed for winning GTs in the TT but Wiggo does...

Every news media outlet that Sky monopolise. Do you see the commentary on euro sport. Wiggo was mentioned far more than any other rider. Thomas hardly got a shout.
Lets be honest. Wiggo knows is GT days were up with the back to form Bertie. Quintana etc .
He managed to stay in the mix in last Years PR and decided that was is best chance to make an impact.
Pina even developed a stupid novelty bike for him. It all ended in a PR disaster.
And to add to it he makes remarks that show what a bad loser and a bit of a tw%t he his.
Armstrong was always gracious in defeat. Wiggo has no class.

Britain he was weaker than Simon Yates :D His 2011 Dauphinie he was definitely not, 2012 Quintana and Rogers were stronger.

Not a big fan of Wiggins but even I can admit he got himself into great climbing shape so that he didn't lose any time to his rivals or at least cut his losses to a minimum. Think it's doing him a big disservice to say it was all down to TT. Facts will show during his Tour win for example that he'd have probably won it with just a prologue, as no rival took any time on him in the mountains, granted he had Froome to help him.

It doesn't. It is a wiggo discussion thread and if you don't like my view tough sh%%.
If you want to go discuss your opinions about Contador that's up to you, negative of positive. I don't give a fu%%
Why don't you start a thread " only post if you love wiggo" where you can post loads of photos and enjoy your man crush in peace.
god bless

I'm not a big fan of Wiggo's either, but I agree with what you say.

Both of you need to moderate your language. There are other users on here who find it offensive, not to mention the example it sets to younger members of the board as to how to behave. Agree to disagree and move on.

I don't understand all this bashing of Wiggins. He has had an amazing career and has definitely been one of the best riders of his time. And if all he can do is time trial, then why criticize him for winning a GT? For me, that's quite an accomplishment for someone who can only time trial. An accomplishment that should be appreciated, not criticized. And as someone else mentioned, Indurain didn't get hated on even though all he did was destroying the competition on time trials. Why the hate on Wiggins then?

But I think it's easy to say that as a media personality he's not really for everyone's taste, I know nobody is, but Wiggins is at his own level. And all those rabid publicity from the dominant English media rub a lot of people in wrong ways. Most of his fans don't help either :).
Having said that, I won't belittle his achievement. He's a very succesful, and a very good cyclist. One doesn't need to be an all-time great to be appreciated, and I think Wiggins has done enough in his career.
But I still feel better that I'll see far less of him, just can't love this guy :D :p

"I think the right winner won in John, but it was just a bit soft the way it went in the final, it didn't go on force like some of the classic editions of Roubaix," he said. "It would have been nice to have a proper one, à la Ballerini twenty years ago."

I hate Sky and I hate Wiggo. they turned cycling into robotic boredom. IMO they take the soul and the spirit of cycling away." marginal boredom"
No flair or instinct or surprise,,, soulless
I don't want to watch some boring midfield player with a good engine, I want to watch Ronaldinho or Ronaldo.

As boring as Sastres tour win was at least he made it happen. No one dragged him up alp d huez.
